I have a very simple line up that I stick with for my taste / value go-to's"
Bulleit Bourbon
Bulleit Rye
Tito's
Hornito's

Rum, it doesn't really matter, they all taste like they poured out of an old tire.
The only reason Rum exists is to get a buzz off of way-too-sweet fruit juices.

Oh man, no way.
Rum is not my go-to at all - in fact I don't really carry it in my bar - but I went through a rum phase when Caracas ( arepa restaurant ) opened in my hood and there are some delicious rums.

Just my opinion. And I respect yours.
My wife can't taste a difference in Vodkas. I guess it varies.

I don't drink much vodka but if I do go buy a bottle it's prob gonna be Tito's.

Rum doesn't do much for me. Too sweet. White rum is like meh whatever. Spiced rum tastes like freshman year in the dorms. And prob haven't had it since freshman year in the dorms either. I guess dark and stormies can be good but haven't had one of those in a long time either. 151, on the other hand, with a little Malibu and pineapple juice...

I dunno if I have a go-to bourbon. Bulleit is hard to beat, esp for cocktails. I had a thing for Elijah Craig for a while but that's mostly cuz of a sentimental night with it. Woodford, 1792, Breckenridge in CO...there's a lot of good options in the 30-40 range. Used to drink a lot more of it, and when we'd do taste tests, Evan Williams was the best bang for the buck, and consistently held its own against others 2-3x the price.

Scotch is prob the most varied of any booze. It can be light and fruity, caramel vanilla-ey like bourbon, smokey, peatey, salty, or just taste like straight cat piss. If I had to pick a fave it's Glenlivet, at least among the reasonably priced options, and not that I've tried tons of scotch.

Fave gin is Tanqueray. I learned that at half price Tuesdays at Jazzhaus. Bombay isn't bad either, but for the money I might just take Seagrams. Lots of variation with this sauce too. There can be some really good craft gin around, or some that taste like soap (too much coriander). I like the more botanical flavor profiles.

Which am I forgetting?

Oh! My homie's neighbor makes some pretty good corn liquor in his garage. Down to sip that as much as anything if I'm in the mood.

With tall that said, I don't even drink much either way. I'll normally have some good tequila around and some cheap beers and that's it. I have like 90% of that bottle of Real Del Valle left, plus 10 coors lites left from a 12 pack. Should last me til the third quarter of the Chiefs game.

...I mean it should last me for a month or two! heh heh...

Rum isn't for me. I prefer vodka if I am drinking fruity sweet drinks.

If sitting at a bar, I prefer bourbon. Either neat or with a cube.

Titos for my everyday vodka.
Makers for my everyday whiskey (if i am mixing it with coke or dr pepper).

You all are drinking the wrong rums…but it’s tougher to get good rums at your standard liquor/grocery store.

Just enjoyed a tostada made by a little woman in a little tienda not far from home. Generous w/ the queso fresco, big chunks of avocado, carne molida that was massaged with spices I can't fully decipher, frijoles, lettuce, tomato (no onion, tho') on a big crispy tortilla. So flippin' good.

Chick is an artist. No pics.

man. So I was gonna gush about Casamigos.

Super smooth, light. hint of peppery spice up front, then a wonderful finish I've been thinking about how to describe...

I'll say, like a good slice of melon. Not watermelon, but like cantaloupe or honeydew. But know how within the same bite you might get a taste of a less ripe part that's a little more tart or sour, but also a taste of the really ripe part that's a lot sweeter and almost pungent but in a good way? Yea, something like that.

Then I look up what reddit has to say. They pretty much just rip on it, go figure. Too smooth, mellow, too bland, too fake vanilla-y, it's just made to be a crowd pleaser for folks who don't otherwise dig tequila and because George Clooney.

I never really got vanilla, but never thought too smooth is a bad thing for sippin' liquor either.

I still like it.

But maybe that's just cuz it was free.

Anywho so I'm working on more of this Real Del Valle tonight. It's not as mellow but still good. And not free, but I still have most of the bottle. Guess that's what accounting types call a sunk cost.

oh man.

So!

Corazón.

Delish!

Light, smooth, citrusy, even a little piney or something.

Prob my fave yet.

Especially when some chick at the bar from South Carolina keeps egging on to drink more.

and so impressed with how a good southern accent manages to fit so many vowels at once.

"Courzaeióuynnn..." (somehow one syllable)

Yes, there is better pizza. Although, some might disagree.
I was hungry and cheap and opted for the quickest and cheapest option. BIG mistake.
Moral of the story is don't be a Gutter.

Full Disclosure: I heart Pizza Hut Supreme Pizza with thin crust. I always order the large, eat a couple of pieces, freeze the rest, and then eat it slowly over the next several weeks when I'm too lazy to fix something else. I probably average one every 6-8 weeks.

I'm gonna just pause here for a minute.

You.....freeze your leftover pizza and eat it over the next several weeks?

thanks for making me feel terrible about myself.

I order a large, stuff my face until I can't move.....then finish off the rest for breakfast. I dont think a pizza has lasted more than 18 hrs around here....ever.

Love pizza hut, I don't have one within 30 miles. So its papa Murphys or nothing pretty much.

Pizzas weird tho, it's the only thing I overeat until overly full, I generally eat light portions. I'm constantly being told that I should eat more. I disagree, I think we should all eat less. My ideal day is light snacks throughout the day and no real full meal. It slows me down too much to eat big portions. It also just doesn't feel good.

If it makes you feel any better, I used to eat half the large pizza, 4 pieces, pretty much every time I ordered one. I still would, but I choose not to because of all the calories.

I would overeat at nearly every meal, if I wouldn't gain weight. I love to eat, the more the better, especially proteins, although I love vegetables, too.

If I believed in reincarnation, I'd swear I starved to death in a recent prior life. Otherwise, I might not be so obsessed with food. Right?

I only like food because it's required. It's more of annoyance to have to stop and sit and eat than anything. I'm not a foodie, its more just keeping the machine running than it is enjoyable. I imagine that might change as I age.

It's still better than sleep. I frigging hate having to sleep. What a complete waste of time. You know how much more i could do in life if I didn't have to sleep?

we only get a limited amount of years here....what a cruel trick to make us spend 1/4-1/3 of those years asleep.
