Rightfully so, since they took unlawful possession of a firearm off the table. He’s not guilty of murder, whether you agree with his worldview or not.

Prosecutors were given a boost Friday when Judge Bruce Schroeder ruled they could argue that Rittenhouse had provoked the initial encounter with Rosenbaum by raising his weapon in the moments before Rosenbaum began to chase him. To show that, prosecutors have relied on video footage shot by a drone a block or so away from the incident, in which Rittenhouse and Rosenbaum can be seen in the distance.

I dunno the degree to which Kyle raised his weapon but it’s at least substantive enough for the judge to let them call it provocation
so in a sense, what’s on trial is whether civilians have a right to go hang on a busy city block with their gun raised, or whether it’s everyone else’s responsibility to not freak out about it
