Yes.

Stating opinions and backing it up with statistics is very emotional, similar to saying "fuck you" as your first response to a post. Or calling someone a child. Or clowns. Or everything shit shows/everything sucks.

I’m happy for Dave, but those last 2 buckets are going to lead to 10 years of “but Dave! Crimscore!” every time that game/season is discussed.

I mentioned this a few days ago, we have too many overly emotional types on this board.
I am just happy that his shot will bump Mario's shot to the next to last shot that gets a huge roar at the end of the pregame video for a while and that when he comes back to town, he will receive a hero's welcome. It's nice that the reality of his up and down career won't be what he wears around his neck as it relates to KU. Good for him.

But yeah, it doesn't change the reality of his up and down career for me. It just makes me happy for him that he got to experience such an ending and thankful that he helped provide me with some awesome family memories as we watched the season unfold.

Cascadia is too emotional.

I think Sherron fucked his 1 and only GF he's ever had and that's why he's so irrational and emotional when it comes to him.

So, uh, about Pettiford or Yesufu . . .

Honestly, my hope is neither. If everyone plays to their potential, I think those 2 don’t play much at all.

I do think Yesufu gives you more options though.

I would have to agree. But also wouldn't be opposed to Yesufu becoming the type of scoring PG that he showed at Drake in the postseason at this level. I don't know that Harris will ever be a 35 minute type of player. It's not just his shot, but his size wears on him.

i think we’ve seen exactly what Yes has the potential to bring, as well as what he’s most likely to bring in this system

i think we’ve barely scratched the surface for what Bobby can bring

but, i do kinda agree that if either of them are getting monster minutes it’s likely that others have underperformed relative to expectations

If this team is going to be a top 7-10 team, there isn’t room for 2 non scoring ball handlers, so that would indicate that Pettiford is on the outside looking in. Unless, of course, he’s made massive improvements over the offseason. Always possible

Pettiford's role almost seems like a foregone conclusion: backup PG and nothing else. He's going to do things in the open floor that people like, so there's room for that on a team that should be running.

Yesufu being a more versatile scorer, I can see him primarily at the 2, but can also play the 1 in a pinch if the staff wants that. Just a few more paths for Yesufu if Pettiford's shot continues to look horrid. And I again won't count on Pettiford being healthy. McCullar needs to be ready to handle the ball.

I like the idea of McCullar as ball handler, cuz it means we can swap Dajuan for Yes and otherwise keep the starters in if we're looking for an option to score.

That's more or less the Remy role.

I tend to think Rice or Dick will fulfill the Remy scoring role, but if Yes wants to be a part of that, I say Yes.

yea.

on paper, you'd think a 4th year bulldog guard would be a shoo-in for that role over a couple of freshies, even if those freshies have the potential to be studs.

and though I think Dick and Rice both have stud potential, I dunno if I've seen either projected as some next level program-changing sure thing elite OAD type thing. But if they are, allsome.

I don't think anyone has said or projected anything like that. We were talking about having a guy that can score off the bench.

This team seems like it will have NBA prospects at the wing (Dick, Rice, Wilson, McCullar) and then good, experienced college level guards. Which, that feels really similar to most of Self's teams. He's got a system.

speaking of systems, this year could be unique in that it may be the first time we've really played that much 5-out offense right?

Or, watch Self still pound it to Zach in the post even though he's known for shooting.

I think he will still try and establish the post in games with Clemence, Udeh and to an extent, KJ.

Won't play it primarily, but yes, it does seem personnel wise that we could play more 5-out than ever before. Jalen, Zach, and KJ are all going to see a ton of minutes and can all play the 5 in a 5-out offense.

I think we'll see more and more of Udeh, though, as the season progresses. He's clearly our strongest big guy and seems to be our only traditional big guy.

Udeh is a wild card on this roster. For the reasons you mention, he may end up playing a big role by the end of the season.

More than any other position, bigs tend to take the longest to get up to speed as freshman. But perhaps they're showing up to campus that much more ready nowadays.

If Udeh can do March 2018 Silvio things for us, that's significant.

I don’t have much faith that Udeh will have a significant impact but it would be great if he does. Freshman big men never seem to be great for KU.
