Storr can play the 4.
I hope Hunter plays 20-22 minutes a game. I know that's not gonna happen but....I can hope.

yea, me too.
He's an effective guy to have, but also the limitations to his game may make him a sort of double-edged sword in big minutes.
Hopefully Flory can get up to speed. On one hand asking a true freshman big to be ready to contribute seems like asking a lot, but on the other hand it's happened before.
And/or, I wouldn't mind being ready to roll some small ball shit out there. like, Juan/Zeke/Griffen/Storr/KJ, assuming the lack of size can be offset by running opponents out the gym.

Elmarko gonna be a hell of a back up pg, and gonna push the portal guys for a starting spot.
Elmarko could be pretty elite off the bench with his size and speed. Can play some 1 and 2 and come in aggressive as energetic as hell.
I'm seeing a big step forward in his play, but probably about the same amount of minutes (20ish) because of dajuan and the portal guards

It'll be more than that... but I agree. I hope he's closer to 25 than 35 tho
Keep him fresh and high energy, and we might be able to get more defense out of him. I'd love to see his numbers all go down but overall effectiveness and our team product improve because of it

So definite starters are
Juan
Storrs
KJ
Hunter
Fifth is between Elmarko, Griffen, and Mayo. The two of those that don't start should be in the rotation.
Then either Bidunga or Clemence playing backup 5 and maybe some 4. But probably not both, cause Self.
I assume based on rumors no Kugel.
Maybe redshirt Jamari, unless it turns out our defense is so bad we need him to play. But probably redshirt.
Passmore probably just sits on the bench a lot?
I agree with all of this except locking in 4 starters.
I'll lock in dajuan and hunter. And probably KJ
But that group you mentioned gives us a lot of options, and there's going to be serious competition for the 2-4, I bet we see changes throughout the seasons based on who plays well together and how the rotation fits

It feels like we have 6 starters on the roster with dajuan, zeke, Griffen, storr, kj, and hunter. The odd man out might depend on who plays best together and might change as the season progresses
If kugel is here he will factor into that.
Then you've still got elmarko who I expect good things from but is the obvious choice to back up dajuan
Clemence could be better than people are expecting too, and could challenge that group for minutes. Jamari plays smart basketball but I hope he redshirts
And we still have 2 athletic freshman
Deepest group we've had in awhile. This is exciting

Competition for starters is good. It means we could actually have a productive bench and not be decimated if someone gets injured.

My initial feeling, without having watched a bunch of tape on all of them, is that Zeke is probably going to be the 6th man. And that's solely based on him having to adjust to the step up in competition that the others won't.
I also think that him coming off the bench allows either he or DH to be on the court at all times.

Watch KJ show up next fall with a semi respectable junpshot

If he could just get proficient with a 10-15 footer it would be huge.

Would love to see it, but wouldn't say either one had a lot to do with the first one

Kj had almost nothing to do with it, but in the final four Dajuan had 11pts, 7ast, 5stl, 1blk, and 57min played......so I'd say Dajuan had quite a bit to do with the 21/22 title.

It is definitely very strange having to get used to 50% of the roster being new players every year....I am most excited to see what kind of growth happens over the off season, with 2 players in particular, and that's Elmarko and Hunter.
Can Elmarko improve his ball handling and shooting?
Can Hunter improve his ability to take over games? Maybe he won't need to with all the additional scoring, but in crunch time I think a close inside shot from the 7'2 guy is a higher % shot than a jumper from the outside by one of the guards/wings.
I think DH and Kj are probably near or at their ceiling. DH especially. I don't expect Kj to become a competent outside shooter in 7 months, but maybe he can figure some rebounding out.

You all motivated me to watch the 2nd half versus UNC again.
Sure he contributed, but we probably don’t win if we don’t have a Remy get hit at just the right time.
There was a reason Harris didn’t play last 8+ minutes.

My feelings on Harris are well-known.
I thought about making my first response something like, "not sure it makes a lot of sense to downplay the role of a guy who was trusted enough to be in a position to barf up the national championship."
All of that said, I'm not a
blind Harris hater. I just want him to have the right role to get the most of out of his strengths and not expose our fates too much to his weaknesses.

I like Harris. I also realize he’s a liability without the proper pieces around him.
HD might be a liability in opposite, but equal ways. Here is to hoping that possibility has been mitigated with the new pieces around him. For as much as I dislike HD bc of how he celebrates himself, disappears when adversity hits (seemingly), and his defensive liability, I hope the right pieces around him change this. I also recognize how good offensively he is. For a player with his level of hype, he should make others around him better. And he doesn’t seem to.

For the sake of this thread…what can we expect as far as Dajuan next year?
Is there something we can realistically expect him to better develop that he hasn’t already?
