Love a good 4 game sweep. Royals pitchers battled all day. Small ball in the 5th won it.
14-7. Let's party.

First four game sweep on the road since 1999. This is how you make for meaningful baseball in the late summer.
And still have like half of your local fanbase not able to watch.

Don't think I shared these before the season started, but I placed the following bets in March
KC World Series (+9000)
KC AL Pennant (+4500)
KC AL Central (+3500)
KC Make Playoffs (+800)
Soler Most Home Runs (+2500)
$50 on each except Soler. Only $10
Also got $50 on Ohtani for MVP (+3500)

$200 to nearly $9000 if KC wins it all with the central. +3500 for the Central seems like good odds.

That 2017 season is a blind spot. I relooked at the season, and we struggled at the start, then had some massive winning streaks in like July, and fell back off. I don't remember hardly any of that season. I think that's the season we resigned Moose for a 1 year deal.

Wow.
Kinda surprised we never had one in the 14, 15, 16 seasons.

Yeah, don’t really have a ton of faith in WS or AL Pennant, but make playoffs and winning the Central would be just fine with me.

15 was the only truly "good" season. We were like 48-50 after the break, and had a strong last six weeks to nab a home wildcard game against an A's team that was on pace to win 110 or so. A's was terrible down the stretch, and the rest was history as far as the playoffs. 15 was good, but we still "only" won like 95 games. That's a .586 winning %.

Would like to see the bats heat up, but ahead after 7 has been money for almost 60 games in a row.

Are you referring to just 2015? Seems you are combining 2014 and 2015.
95 wins is a lot of f-n wins, and we dialed it back in September to save for the playoffs.

Heard today that the worst finish ever for a team that started 14-7 is 72-90. So this hot start means the over pays.

I didn’t break it up well for the plebs. I was talking about each season as it payed out, but didnt label which season I was talking about. That’s on me.
95 isn’t rememberable in the grand scheme of things. Like when KU got a 2 seed with 9 losses, it’s nice that happened, but other years 95 wins doesn’t get you home field advantage

Except that since, about the mid-80s anyway, the Royals and KU basketball are about the inverse of each other.
You're right that no one would remember a KU team that got a 2 seed with 9 losses (assuming an uninteresting exit).
But the stupid 2003 Royals mirage was the
highlight of about a 20-year span.
After 2014, Royals fans knew exactly what we had in 2015 and enjoyed every second.

2003 and lack of pitching was a thing the whole time. Lots of scares and high scores at first, then just drilled.

Pulled it out. I’m thinking junis is a starter. Best starts other than Duff

Lopez covering on a steal with a RHer batting was special. Slow ground ball and a pop up that should have been caught. Sigh

The Royals waaaayy too aggressive at the plate tonight. They are refusing to walk again and it bodes ill if not fixed immediately.
