Youre not allowed to point out stuff like that. It makes it look like Trump being banned was just a political moveBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 6:59 pm Q:

Come on Gutter. It is well documented how terrorists/terrorist organizations/ terrorist sympathizers/pro terrorist media outlets utilize social media of various types to communicate, recruit, spread propaganda, etc.
Yes, in recent years, the social media companies have cracked down on it, with/after pressure from government. But the measures in place are still being circumvented. It's incredibly easy to create an email address and a twitter account.
And fwiw, I am fine with twitter suspending or banning whoever they want.

Re: Facebook, Google, et al
but yea.
I keep wondering about this paradox of intolerance tho.
in a tolerant society, it shouldn't be tolerated.
GTFO with the hate speech and such.

My response.....
Can one of you two (or both of you) please tell me which known members of international terrorist organizations were/are tweeting things worthy of banishment?

Your response to my post.....
Are you implying that you don't think any terrorists or terrorist sympathizers are on/using twitter?
1. I was in no way implying that I don't think terrorists or terrorist sympathizers are on/use Twitter.
I asked who these known members are and what have they posted that is worthy of banishment.
I'm still waiting for names from you and/or Randy.
2. My simple answer to your original question is, I don't feel anyone should be banned - unless they PURPOSELY tweet things to cause not just probable but also potential harm to other people. The problem is defining what that may or may not be.
3. I agree with you 100% that "terrorists/terrorist organizations/ terrorist sympathizers/pro terrorist media outlets utilize social media of various types to communicate, recruit, spread propaganda, etc." and that "the measures are being circumvented".
4. I'm going to add that someone has to be an absolute asshole to preach for free speech without realizing that when "free speech" is abused it can cause not just harm to others but those people themselves and their family members too.

Yes. I believe that was the point (but not as catchy a phrase)KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 2:44 pmwould you agree that it’s more important to know (and admit) what you don’t know?

And those dudes you listen to only speak of the mild Covid variants when they say everyone did everything wrong. They do not break it part. They just want to hook you, get the clicks, the calls, and follows, your dollars, your votes, and the power. They don't talk about the times the morgues were overflowing, ventilators were in short supply, and cities were building hospitals overnight. We needed a vaccine then.randylahey wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 6:38 pm Phd loves posting these statistics that focuses on the 1 percent exception of the population. Its cute. Because it ignores the other 99 percent of what's happening in the ignore. The 99 percent that never needed a covid shot.
I will take Phd's knowledge and credentials over the talking heads you listen to any day on this. If I need to know about a payday loan, I'll check your guy out.

Re: Facebook, Google, et al
Using those ventilators was a mistake as it's been talked about for a while now. Would have been much wiser to treat it with other treatments and vitamins. Some of those common people who didn't have PhDs proved to be far more right than the ones who did.
Re: Facebook, Google, et al
Yes, we know that now. But it was standard hospital treatment protocol to put people with low blood oxygen levels on ventilators. It had nothing to do with vaccines. Every-day doctors and nurses were doing their best. Others were too scared to leave their homes.

As I mentioned a few pages ago, that’s one of the answers I give when someone asks me the obligatory interview question “what is your biggest strength”. As scientists we are trained to recognize that what we don’t know far exceeds what we do know! The successful ones are those who which is which.DrPepper wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 1:53 pmYes. My postdoc adviser used to say “we all know that 99% of everything we know about [abcd] is totally wrong/garbage but the problem is no one knows which 99%”. His pet peeve was the hypotheses regarding the health benefits of orally ingested “antioxidants” - he was (one of) the leading scientist(s) on the chemistry of organic free radicals.

i had many “discussions” with fellow grad students who had pre-conceived notions about their systems of study, and sought to tweak their analyses/parameters in order to achieve what they “thought” the answer should bezsn wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 2:33 pmAs I mentioned a few pages ago, that’s one of the answers I give when someone asks me the obligatory interview question “what is your biggest strength”. i kept saying till i was blue in the face, that that’s not how this (science) works
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Profound, Elon.
