Bad look as a public figure. There is some truth in it tho,
we should be better prepared to take care of our own and we should be more readily able/acceptant of taking care of our neighbors and community. It is only recently (in a historic sense) that so many were reliant on so few.
The issue is that it's much more efficient (in cost and many other ways) to centralize things like energy infrastructure.
In theory.

The folks are waiting patiently for sparkle and dazzle to start making good on some of them many promises. Or at least act like they are going to make good.
Photo ops signing off on the dinner menu and handing out valentines isn’t what we had in mind.
Thanks for proving my point.
My question to MICH is, who is "we"?
"we" as in the ignorant fucks who are hoping Biden fails and if when/he does, will take pleasure in it?

Sure.
But then give me back all my tax dollars so I can build my own solar grid.

When did TDub become such a limp-wristed liberal?

Temps were not as cold last night (18) and somehow my hot water line thawed this morning...
Got about another inch of snow on top of the 3” we had. Roads down here are untouched. The good news is it should get above freezing Friday.
Another 24-48 hours of this mess and things should start to clear up.

Have we discussed how Texas has its own independent power grid?

So basically they’re more focused on things like avoiding gummint regulation, than they are on things like being prepared for winter.

more on the “independence” of tejas
and apparently, fossil fuel production was halted similarly to the renewables
in short, the shirt-sightedness and independence have been the cause of the state’s current troubles

Just got off the phone with a USPS employee in Whitehouse Texas.
According to tracking, I have a package that's been sitting there since 12:17pm on February 10th.
He told me that it's probably stuck at the next destination and they never scanned it in BUT....they have had no mail come in or go out of the Whitehouse Texas post office the past 2 days.
Normally I am sympathetic when it comes to weather issues BUT........
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds".
Meanwhile, I have a package that's been sitting 10 miles away from me since Friday.
I would happily go pick it up if they would allow me to. I asked, they won't. Not too sure why.
