He is averaging over 17 ppg (that includes his 1 point game against the Lakers).
I didn't realize he averaged 16.9 points per game two seasons ago.
Riddle me this. What makes Kelly Oubre and Ben Mclemore solid NBA players and guys such as Xavier Henry (1st round 12th pick), Josh Jackson (1st round 4th pick - I guess we can blame his brain), Josh Selby (2nd round 49th pick), and Wayne Selden (I am still surprised he was un-drafted) aren't on an NBA team today?

Health for Henry. Tore his Achilles and was done for all practical purposes. Josh has between the ears issues and that broken jumper gets exposed at the NBA level. He is a hundred thousand quality reps behind everyone else because the hundred thousand reps of a broken jumper harmed his future ability.

Selby? Dunno, health and brains maybe. He had no business going when he did and was washed out before he ever had the smarts to take advantage of the chance.

Selden is simply making better money and getting more reps in China than he could get in the NBA. It took him 3 years to become an above average P5 ncaa player so the fact he played in the NBA as much as he did is pretty impressive.

Oubre has the measurables to fit in his role well. In the confined space of an NBA court, that goes a long ways. And he seems to be working hard and playing well. McLemore? I hope he starts shooting better 3pt fg% so he can stick in the NBA. Great kid who deserves some good things, would love it if he could play in the NBA as long as he wants.

I am going to some HS games in the near future and will be watching some highly ranked recruits.
I don't pretend I can tell who will make it as a quality player in the NBA and who wont and some of these kids are just a couple of years away from being NBA players.
Well, one guy I will give myself credit for GUESSING correctly about was - Cliff. Kid was a beast in HS. Watching him in HS I thought he wouldn't be anything other than a very good college player - and he wasn't really even that.
