The assholes from the Bay area won't shut the fuck up about it, so it feels like I've lived there my entire life.

I also hate the weather, like Mark Twain famously said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in The Bay Area." That's something LA has in spades over the bay area...sunshine.

Have you spent much time in Texas, or just dealt with rubes from there?
Mark Twain famously didn’t say anything like that

But the blue ones matter the most.

i will say this...i’d vote for liz cheney right now, even if just because she’s standing up for herself and showing some integrity

it’ll probably cost her her job, but good for her for not being obedient and blindly bending the knee

It will be interesting to see what the right ends up looking like when all this is settled. 60/40 Trumpist? 90/10?

i’m still holding out hope that the party splits, but the pessimist in me thinks that any of the pubs that are worth a damn will be forced out of the establishment or just retire from exhaustion

Yes, but that doesn't resolve the size of the voter pool in 2024. Trump just lost by 8 million votes. He/the Trumpists can't afford for even 10% of their base to peel off.

I think the political issue of the next 50 years is the race between bad-faith disenfranchisement and voter suppression, on one hand, and the increasingly-progressive will-of-the-people, on the other hand.
