Virtually identical prospects coming out of high school. One has a year experience playing in the big 12. And one is fresh out of high school

Both have tremendous upsides. Morris has the experience edge. I just have a gut feeling that Jackson is going to be a special player.

Yea, when I asked I meant either Elmarko or Arterio, but was more asking if one or the other had stood out, coach’s blurbs, whether one might me penciled in more as a 2-guard, etc.

I’ll say Elmarko.

Been high on him ever since he committed.

And know how pdub has a hangup about Hunter? I have a similar hangup about Arterio.

But instead of the hangup being about NIL, it’s about DV allegations…gross

Agreed, but would add that Morris really just wasn't impressive last year. Really bad decisions. And that's the best way to get a seat next to Bill.

He looked pretty good towards the end. He also played behind a really good experienced backcourt. And practiced against them all year

Hopefully he has no off the court issues that factor into our season. I think elmarko is going to be really really good, eventually.

But it's silly to think arterio isn't ahead of him right now

How often is a freshman guard good at kansas? Pretty rare. It's a huge learning curve coming out of high school and learning to efficiently fit in to selfs system

20ish years of evidence of this. They usually struggle for awhile, and get buried behind more experienced players, then eventually figure it out

Rarely freshman guards play big roles early, by necessity. And we watch their learning curve/struggles ON the court in the form of turnovers and defensive breakdowns

Elmarko doesn't have to play a big role immediately. Dajuan, Timberlake, arterio and elmarko make up the deepest back court we've had in awhile. On paper at least

one is on campus, practicing with the team absorbing the culture and building chemistry......

one is still in Texas dealing with legal issues and, from the sounds off it, may not make it to campus until after the season starts.

There are two guards who played big roles as freshmen from the same class not long ago:

Dotson.
Ochai.

Please don’t come back and say “ocHai WasNt a GuaRD”.

We were awful that season

They played out necessity. There were no decent guys with experience ahead of them

Ochai was supposed to redshirt

(ochai wasn't a guard lol he played at the 3/wing)

Let us all pause...recall that lahey isn't a Naismith, Allen, Hamilton, Harp, Owens, Brown, Williams, or Self...but knows it all about everything. Unless, you are Bill Self in a pseudo username. What a joke. Negativity is what you bring...just like with Braun 2.0...I would think you would be better suited on the football board and put out your diatribe of how you are smarter than the coaching staffs and they don't/aren't given a chance to change your mind. Karen...Nope...We are back to Negative Nancy. Stuff happens...like Och to redshirt...it didn't happen...Self recognized....made it work...I trust in Bill. Period.

What’s up with posters using so many ellipses lately. Like TDub switched to full ellipses when he didn’t use them before.
