just yesterday we were just debating the math of "those who didn't vote" (or voted third party).pdub wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:39 am I think trump's time in office may try to push our boundaries of what we actually feel is humane and just. Those who didn't vote in the election may ( hopefully ) look around and see the damage being done.
So simply not doing that anymore would drive voters out to vote for something different.
The concern is, are there enough people who won't be duped into putting the blame of the damage on other groups of people they don't like/taught to fear? Are there enough people not doing their own research and not simply believing every word that comes from the current administrations lying mouth?
I'm afraid a non-vote or third party vote is not simply a vote for only the particular candidate for whom the vote is cast, and not simply a vote against any other particular candidates either, but a vote against the entire system.
one party is like, "yea we're gonna just wear the fascism on our sleeve," and the other party is like, "vote for us cuz we're the only thing standing up against fascism, but also we want you to stop making such a big deal about things like GENOCIDE, not that makes us fascists too."
I think that just disenchants a lot of people regardless.
