Wow, the first four listed are all on my team.
So I'll go with that team. But I don't really know anything

Interesting coincidence. The first team is mine. The second team is my opponent's this week.
Yahoo predicts the 2nd team wins. I predict I lose because it's very common for me to get Guttered in fantasy football.

So far this is the season of juuuust poached ( guys I would have taken over who I chose ).

Poached in the 2nd round by 2 picks for Amon Ra and 1 pick by Derrick Henry.
Poached in the 3rd from Calvin Ridley by 1 pick.
In the 5th from Brandon Aiyuk by 1 pick.

This morning poached by 1 waiver spot priority from Pacua.

Yea, I'm team A.
My RB core is paper thin but with Ridley, in a must start 3 WR league, i'll have 3 possible top 12 WRs ( if Garrett Wilson lands another QB - otherwise, more like 2 top 12's and a top 24 ).

my main league is killing me.

Week 1. 2nd most points scored Lost.
Week 2. Most points scored Win
Week 3. The way it's looking is; 2nd most points scored (by a long shot) . Lose

1-2 but with the most total points scored by a country mile.

I'll add again, Fantasy Football is largely luck.
Right off the bat this season, if you're in a random draw snake draft, landing the first couple picks will get you cheat code Justin Jefferson or another cheat code in Christian McCaffrey.

You fall down to 7th-12th pick? Now you have to guess to get lucky rather than getting a proven point maker.

I love the randomness, and probably further more the simplicity, of snake drafts, but auction is just a better way to even things out at the start.

I'll have the most points for in both my leagues ( my main and kansascrimson ).
My main i'll be in first at 4-1.

my main league ill jave the most points scored by a wide margin (depending on tonight looks to be about +170 pts) but after this week I'm going to be 1-3-1. I also have the most pts scored against by a wide wide margin. Very unfortunate scheduling.

Team A gives Ekeler, Adam Thielen.
Team B gives Kenneth Walker, Zack Moss, Courtland Sutton.

Team A has Ekeler, Najae Harris, Jaylen Warren and Kendre Miller at RB and is 1-4.

It mostly comes down to how many games missed due to injury you have in your picks from rounds 1-4. Luck out and have the smallest number and you are likely going to finish near the top of your league. Luck out and hit on a few waiver wire picks and have a decently consistent QB and you're money.

Sure but every pick has a percentage chance of injury while the top few picks have a higher rate of return.

Through my 20 years of playing I’m confident in saying I’d MUCH rather have a top 3 pick and have to wait on the turn than have a pick 6-12 and get 2 picks closer together because of that higher rate of guaranteed production.

Maybe. Sure, McCaffrey is RB1 in my regular league but 2-6 are Achane (undrafted), Mostert (who I got in the 11th round), Zach Moss (undrafted), David Montgomery (drafted in 9th round) and Kyren Williams (undrafted).

Im not denying there won’t always be random gems late but those can fall to anyone including the guy with a top 3 pick.

I think more often than not if you asked me every season if I wanted a top 3 pick or anywhere else I’d say top 3.

I never like having my second pick so low but that's just me.

Here's a recap of my regular league's first round picks:

1) Jefferson - currently WR9 and now on IR
2) McCaffrey - solid RB1 but injured with no update on even what the injury is yet
3) Chase - WR7 but is healthy and will improve now that Burrow seems healthy
4) Chubb - out for season
5) Bijan Robinson - RB9 on a floundering team
6) Tyreek - solid WR1 and could win MVP
7) Ekeler - RB20 something, has been injured most of the year
8) Barkley - RB20 something, has been injured most of the year
9) Henry - RB11 on a floundering team
10) Diggs - WR2 and cruising

It's mostly just pick someone on a great offense, cross your fingers and hope for good health.

If you picked in the top 3, you got Jefferson, McCaffrey or Chase.
I'm guessing Chase ends up in the top 3 WRs.
McCaffrey is a cheat code better than all other RBs.

Some bad luck with Jefferson, for sure, but if you go back year by year, 20 years, and analyzed the picks, i'm sure you would see that the first picks + the snaked last picks would be more beneficial than the 7-12th picks with their higher 2nd pick.

If I had the 1st pick, I would have gone McCaffrey this season, and then, using my rankings, at that exact pick coming back, would have gotten Chris Olave.

140 points + 65. 205 points.

7th pick: Kelce + Garrett Wilson. 136.
8th pick: Bijan + Amon Ra. 168.
9th pick: Saquon + AJ Brown. 149.
10th pick: Diggs + Derrick Henry. 202.
11th pick: Chubb + Davante Adams. 109.
12th pick: Pollard + CeeDee. 155.

In a somewhat related sense, it's like how the NFL values their picks.
A 1st and 24th adds up to 3750 points.
A 12th and a 13th 2350.

Fair enough. I have never tried to draft in the Top 3 before in my main league but since I have had so many guys out with injury I may get a shot at it next year. I will probably give it a go and see how it turns out if I get the opportunity.
