Who’s ready for lawmakers to be trigger happy about the 25th for everything from tan suits to mustard?
If "incites a violent occupation of the Capital" is the new precedent, I am OK with that. If Biden does the same thing at any point, I would also be OK with the 25th being used to remove him from office.

This went WAYYYYY over the line of partisan pissing and screaming.

That has been happening since the creation of politicians.

They are currently playing Elton John's Funeral for a Friend.

1) I wonder if they paid for the rights to use it and Elton approved.
2) I wonder if any of these rubes know what they are listening to.
It's either some expert trolling or the world's dumbest rally organizers.

1. "Funeral for a Friend" at a virus spreader rally.
2. "Fortunate Son" at a draft dodger rally.
3. "YMCA" to a bunch of homophobes.

Speaking of draft-dodging, I just learned that these imbeciles had repurposed the South Vietnamese flag for their ‘cause’! Talk about trolling!!

jfish26 wrote: Thu Jan 07, 2021 12:51 pm It was less than a year ago that we told Trump is was A-OK to use the powers of the office for personal gain. In the last week, he has, using the powers of his office, solicited election fraud and incited/aggravated an attack on the federal government and its execution of the laws of the country.

What are we doing, if this isn't the situation in which we should have a lever to remove a president?
exactly

if now is not the time, when is?

The man had a great first 3 years. The 4th not so much. 2020 got away from him. As it did many people. 2020 was not our friend.

They should relieve him of his duties.

Baby steps Trad. Everything else he said there was something I’d never thought I would hear Mich say.

i guess

it’s really no different than so many elected pubs all of a sudden growing a spine...it’s good to see, but unimpressive given the coddling and complicity they’ve demonstrated since 2016

Also, we have a 240 year history of constantly increasing the power of the executive branch beyond what is in the constitution.

Keeping the executive branch in check would be a good thing. Knowing that you are not an all powerful king would be a good thing for any and all future presidents.

I watched Fox News for a while yesterday.

They, uh, walk quite a fine line.

When did you watch? Afternoon slots were pretty consistent in the horrific things going on.

The evening opinion programs, though..... That's an ENTIRELY different story.

Uhh, pretty consistent, how?

“The capitol had been breached...no word on whether it’s Trump supporters, or actually Antifa and BLM thugs starting the trouble...

this is not good (mentioned in passing), but it’s what real patriots do when they get tired of being lied to by the gummint (mentioned with emphasis)...

(Again in passing) this is not how we should go about this, but (again the emphasized part) there are legit election fraud concerns were trying to address. These are real too, not fake, like the Russia investigation...

Let’s remember how actually pissed off many posters got when I started that thread that was literally nothing more than Fox News taking points.

That shit’s bananas!

Inciting sedition happened in 2021, in case you hadn’t noticed. BTW, 2021 hasn’t been different than 2015, or any of the intervening years. It’s just that some people finally found religion on the Road to Damascus

I watched some Fox News to see how they were covering it.
It was acceptable - they were shocked/upset/not supporting what the domestic terrorists were doing.

Sure they weren’t down with it, but did you guys feel like there were also a lot of deflections and whataboutisms and dog whistles too?

They did a lot of doubling down on, “but concerns about election security!” And why even mention BLM and antifa?

At the very least, I don’t know why we heard so much about how the Russia investigations were and still are a witch hunt...
