That is insanely awful and not in the least surprising. The best game the defense played all year was against the Raiders and the defense had zero (maybe 1?) penalties. Coincidence. I think not.

To the naked eye when the Chiefs corners have struggled with penalties it was because they were out of phase and panicking. To me, that means you have bad technique or you have corners that can't play in your scheme or assignment.
Against the Raiders. It was a simple go route down the sideline with Nelson against Ward. Ward stayed in Nelson's hip pocket, turned his body away from Nelson but still kept contact with him on his hip, found the football and got a PBU. No panic; just sound technique.

If Chiefs and Patriots win this weekend, I'm pretty sure Patriots' Plan A in the AFC title game will be to chuck the ball up and gain yards by penalty.

And...that will be a good plan.

Yes, that they will do.

I do think if both Chiefs and Pats win, the Chiefs win that game by 14 though. I think NE stinks.

Agreed. And I still think KC wins by 11. 38-27.

I agree. Havent seen the Colts play much so I feel much more uncertain. I have seen the Pats play plenty and they dont worry me. I would rather play them than the Chargers.

So uh, what about this snow thats coming? Gonna get this game in first or will it be snowing during the game? Is the snow already starting?

It's not just the football - all of the ghosts of failures past are with THIS game. The AFC Championship game would be much looser.

Snow is coming in tonight. I don't think it'll be an issue. Those fields drain so well.

I think the heavy snow stops around 2 or so, but will still be snowing during the game some. Maybe a half of an inch.

Ticket prices are dropping fast. Cheapest ticket is $80 or so. Just earlier this week it was close to $150 or so.

Colts are peaking, Chiefs are not.
That is what worries me.

Snowflakes falling outside my window. Melting on ground impact, though.

I guess.. A 30 point win against a rival NFL team is always nice. Again, Indy didn't do anything in that Houston game after the 6:24 mark of the 2nd quarter.

Sammy Watkins probably playing in the game tomorrow is huge. With him in the game, the offense hits a whole different level of production. Mahomes won't throw passes 3 yards short of the receivers like Watson did last week.

Not just the Texans game. The Colts are playing really solid ball on both sides.

I hope to see some resemblance of defense from the Chiefs tomorrow.

Again... Here are the QBs they have faced in their last 11 games or whatever. Since the Buffalo game.

Derek Anderson
Derek Carr
Blake Bortles
Blane Gabbert
Ryan Tannehill
Cody Kessler (Lone loss of 6-0)
Watson
Dak
Eli
Mariota

The start of the year when they were 1-5? The QBs were
Dalton
Alex Smith
Carson Wentz
Tom Brady
Sam Darnold

Not one QB is even close to Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. Not even freaking close. I do think it will remain close just based on weather and Colts style of offense, but still think the Chiefs win by double digits. The only good stretch of QBs they really faced were in the first 6 games, and they went 1-5.

I'm sorry but as a Chiefs fan I just have this impending doom in the back of my head.
There's gonna be some fluke play ( Luck fumbling it right into his arms, Mariota passing it to himself ), rash of injuries ( Jamaal Charles and five other players ) or some bullshit call ( Derrick Johnson non fumble, Eric Fischer hold ) that completely changes the game and Chiefs gonna Chiefs.

The only person I feel that can break us from this string of bad luck is the best QB of the season.

jfish is right, the absolute worst thing would be if the Chiefs lost like 16-13. Any other scenario, Chiefs fans can live with for this season.

I just want to break the home playoff streak this season.
If the Pats or Chargers come in and beat us, I wouldn't be that upset, because, well, we forseeably have Mahomes for the next 15 years.
