The guy who started it, Scott Stedman, though only ~ 24 y/o, appears to be connected to a degree, because he seems to break national security news fairly regularly. He's followed by a number of former federal prosecutors, democratic congresspeople, and other national security journalists I follow.
Scott Stedman is an investigative journalist whose work has been cited in, among others, the Washington Post, BBC, Reuters, CNN, McClatchy, Daily Mail, the Guardian, and VICE.
