(And I hope that’s ok to put here. I mean it less in a pols boredy way, and more that life imitating art or vice versa kinda way, which imho is appropriate)

About 1 or 2 episodes in I said that I knew what the hottest Halloween costume would be this year.

Dune.
Visuals good.
Sound good.
They trying to stay closish to the book but...
Is it wrong of me as a fellow nerd to say that Frank Herbert is a bit boring?
And I wanted to see Paul ride the worm.
Overall score, solid B.
Sniffing the B plus range.

The director said one film wouldn't do the books justice. Maybe Dune: Epilogue in a few years?

I’m sure.
But there’s a lot more content after this...
So if they can’t fit Dune in one book then this is gonna be like nine movies.

I watched Chappelle's special.
I found it neither offensive nor particularly funny. As I thought it was very similar to his last few specials.
I thought it was interesting though that on my Netflix account, the special was sandwiched between two true crime documentaries, one about a serial rapist and one about a serial killer yet the controversial content was the guy trying to make jokes.

There's no way this is going to be as good as the anime but it's right around the bend.

Got Bordello of Blood on in the background while I'm working.
Great flick? Yeah or Nay?

I remember that name but not the details.
I think I liked it when I was like 12

It straddles that so bad it's good line - I haven't seen it in a while.

It is in our agreement that we ( BUD ) and I get to watch two horror films a year in October.
Last week saw Quiet Place 2 ( I hadn't seen it so that was an added bonus ).
This week i'm thinking either It Follows or Hereditary.

I've seen em both -- both are excellent horror films.
I'd put those both in my top 25 all time.
I'm open to any deep cuts/hidden gems that I may never have seen ( as I said, it's a bonus to see a good horror movie that I haven't seen - but i'd be bummed if it was something new and sucked ).

Man, horror films are fun. I’ve seen hardly any, as most shit I watched tends toward comedy. But when I do watch horror I usually enjoy it, at least after the fact.
The only horror I’ve seen in a theater was The Grudge. Pretty creepy.
I also remember one night after some other flick ended, Jeepers Creepers 2 came on, and it freaked me out so much I turned it off.

Seen it. And the Conjurings. And the Paranormal Activities.
Not into subtitles for my horror - but I haven't seen 'We Are Still Here or 'The Endless'.
Both look interesting.

Anybody watch the new Halloween movie yet, Halloween Kills? I thought about renting it on Prime, but it was $20 just to rent, so fvck that. Yeah, I'm cheap.
