Used to think Spo was overrated. I stopped thinking that a few years ago. That being said, blowing a 3-0 against Mazzulla would be EPIC Doc like.

What’s happening to the Heat?
Buncha injuries?

Celtics are playing their A game.
That means hitting threes and playing tenacious defense.
If they play their A game, I think they are the best team in the NBA.
Derrick White is hitting the open shots he gets because of fear of Jason and Jaylen driving.
Marcus Smart was all over the court.
They locked in on guarding Butler with multiple guys.
Heat have a more well rounded game, as in, if their threes aren't falling, they still know how to win.
Celtics are more reliant on those deep shots to drop but they have the shooters to make that happen.
I still think playoff Jimmy goes nuts and the Celtics revert to forcing shots ( cough cough Jaylen Brown ) without ball movement in game 6 but would love to be surprised.

I disagree. The heat shouldn't have made it this far. Doc never once overperformed with his teams
The Celtics are by far and undoubtedly more talented than the heat. The fact spoelstra won 3 games against them is impressive
But yeah nobody wants to blow a 3 game lead. Find a way to win game 6

The reason the Celtics have a chance to make history and be the first to come back from 3-0 is because there is ABSOLUTELY NO reason they should have been down 3-0
There is a huge talent gap between between Boston and Miami. I doubt we've ever seen the less talented team go up 3-0. It took special circumstances for it to happen

"there is ABSOLUTELY NO reason they should have been down 3-0"
randy is correct about 50 percent of the time on the basketball bored.
This is one of those times.

You say you disagree.
Then you go on in your post clearly agreeing with me.
I'll assume you misinterpreted my words.

I disagreed with the doc comparison lol. Doc wouldve never never never been up 3-0 on a more talented team. I think its really impressive spoelstra ever had Miami up multiple games in this match up.
And while it would be very disappointing to have that lead slip away, I think comparing him to doc is unfair

So "spoelstra is overrated" is a belief that was held because he coached a lebron James team. Those are weird situations, if you dont win a title its always considered a failure, especially earlier in lebrons career. Spoelstra had those lebron, dwade, Chris bosh teams. Made it to the finals every year. And went 2-2
The 2 teams that beat him was a hungry popovich spurs squad. Pop is probably the goat of coaching, the had tim Duncan, a young kawhi, Parker, ginobli, and a shitload of good veteran role players
And the other team was the mavs, who were absolutely stacked with veteran players that were desperate for a title. And dirk, the guy they built around, was playing some of the best basketball I've ever seen
Id say spoelstra was good even back then, expecting him to win a title every season just cause prime lebron was there might not be fair. Going to 4 straight finals and winning half of them is still an accomplishment. And since then he has repeatedly overacheived with relatively average squads. Spoelstra might be the best coach in the game right now.
And he's the only coach to ever inherit a lebron James squad and not get fired

I’m hoping for an epic game here.
It has that feeling so far.

I haven’t looked up Jaylen Browns stats but I’m guessing they are pretty bad this series.
Meanwhile Grant Williams chucks a three and knows immediately it was an awful choice.

Ok officials I see you.
:/
Legit block.
Celtics ball.
Ok again.
6 point swing from the refs.

Some people say the refs spend halftime strategizing to create even more new and subtle ways to make sure Boston wins and there's a game 7.

I hope so.
Didn’t seem like the plan at the end of the second quarter.
Seemed to me “how we keep this single digits at half”.

This second half will be a Tatum Jimmy duel.
Go Tatum.
