Matheny had brought in exactly the wrong pitchers this week. May is melting down.

I'm not going to be very judgy on how he handles the staff this season. The word "unprecedented" has obviously never been beaten more to death than over this past year, but he's dealing with a situation that doesn't have a roadmap. It's frustrating to have to pull guys so early and so often, but he also has to do whatever he and the organization think is going to do the least long-term harm, from a workload standpoint.

Starting pitching has been mostly fine other than Keller over last week. Starting Pitchers in last two games got pulled with 2 on base, and the relievers let all those and more score. Just happens. It feels like Cleveland is just going to be the team that has the Royals’ number this year. That’s fine as long as we keep it close with Chicago, and put it to the Twins and Detroit

Go .500 this month and we'll be there in September. Simple as that.

I agree, but KC now has an uphill battle to be .500 in May

Currently 1-3

24 games remaining (11 home, 13 road)

What an unprofessional clown, Hernandez. Absolutely embarrassing for the sport.

Wheels came off again, but honestly the sixth inning ended with an umpire basically screwing the Royals over every chance he got. It ended as you would expect, but Hernandez should be sanctioned.

At least the fans can stay hopeful by blaming Hernandez.

Hernandez was an incompetent coda on the bleeding. But the worst part is the Royals have been scouted out of first place. The Twins, Indians, and White Sox know when certain pitches are coming and have been perfectly placed to catch 100 mph line drives. Almost every damned one of them. And the Royals have never gotten over their tendency to swing at bad pitches. They look like the greatest hits from 2010. Mondesi and Witt could make some difference, but in truth, MLB has damned itself with a weirdly heavy intra-divisional schedule. Thursday's game was really just a yawner as screamin liners comported to well-worn spray charts as a mediocre pitcher shut them down. We are now 22 innings without a run-scored.

Moore and Matheny have a big egg on their face after shuffling the rotation like they did. Bad look.

Soler hits a 410 foot double. Santana, with his lightning speed, comes nowhere close to scoring. Stranded at third. 27-innings without scoring now.
