I think Lily is in every commercial break. That's a great thing.

Nowell is a dawg but my goodness did he get bailed out.
I wish I could cheer for State but that fanbase is unbearable.
people are people man. its easy to find reasons to not cheer for any team if you're looking, every tree has some bad apples so that's some low-hanging fruit.
I think this comes down to what I tell my older daughter.
"I know your little sister is kind of obnoxious and isn't as smart as you. But be a good big sister and be happy for her when she does something well."
Words of wisdom. Perspective. Possibly being from Wichita makes me less hostile to KSU, I dunno - not the KC vs western KS divide, but more fortunate that any of my fam goes to any college is great?

Would have been interesting if KU had landed Scheierman in the transfer market last year.

Good shooting and made free throws seems to help a team win.

Have to wonder how CBS and the NCAA feel about a potential SDSU, FAU, Miami, Gonzaga/UConn Final Four.
Sure people will watch but not too many will care all that much. My guess is 95% of the people in this country can't name a single player on SDSU and/or FAU and 98% can't name their coaches.

I mentioned I am running a pool with 59 participants.
21 have ZERO Elite 8 teams in their Final Four.
Most have 1 team.
Some have 2 teams.
Only one person has 3 teams (Texas/Gonzaga/KSU) and she told me she knows nothing about college basketball. Go figure - right?

Come on.
I don't think Creighton is capable of winning a national title this year.
That's like saying KState could win the national title this year.
Maybe that quality of team is your threshold for contender.

In a way, it takes a little of the sting off knowing the other 1 seeds are going home too.
Could have a texas/ksu final.

uconn can win it. tejass can win it. ksu can win it. gonzaga can win it. that’s all that can win it.

I'm from Wichita too, and I don't get the loathing for KSU, (or WSU), either.
My mother attended KSU for one year, 1943-44, I think. This is a woman who spent 3 years of her childhood living in a caboose on a RR siding near Mulvane, Ks, at times with only the wheat her mother boiled to make porridge, that her alcoholic father stole out of open box cars, during the depression. That she was able to attend any college, even for only one year, was miraculous!
When I asked her what her best memories of being at K-State are, she said it was "boring".
"All the boys were away at the war, so we only had each other to hang out with."
MjI, I have the exact same dynamic going on b/ my 8 & 11 y/o granddaughters.

if you don't get the loathing for KSU or WSU, just consider the loathing KSU and WSU have for KU.
But, I suppose it's part of being the bigger person to just shrug that off, and give the younger siblings a pat on the back anyway.

Being KU, I expect better out of us.
We should be flattered, because we know it's based on jealousy.

There is some of that, but the hard truth is that they hate the progressive nature of Lawrence and are inclined to torches and pitchforks at a certain point beyond Topeka.
Kansas had a great legacy as a free state and reasonable inhabitants willing to give of themselves for others. I greatly dislike what they have done to a state my ancestors helped found as free soil. The hate tropes that dominate their daily lives are streamed our way in a predicable fashion because it is a day ending in a "y".

I don't think there has been an Elite 8 that I have cared less about in the last 40 years.
Predict
KSU wins by 6
UConn wins by 4
SDSU wins by 4
Texas wins by 7
Want
Don't care
Don't care
Don't care
Don't care

Cracks me up that they don’t even bother with the “act like you’ve been there” thing.

I’ve seen some ‘movies’ where this scenario is hooening. The girls seemed to enjoy each other’s company and find things to do!
(Seriously, though, good story)
