Wait. So the Four Seasons Landscaping presser was a total mix-up?!

Trump thought it was the Four Seasons hotel...

It took 9/11 to elevate this nation to a level of patriotism I had never experienced prior.

Maybe it took the repulsiveness of Trump to push this country back towards coming together as a nation again. Maybe this is what Trump will end up doing to Make America Great Again. Dems need to move aggressively away from this partisan, separate teams toxicity, be the adult in the room and sit down across the table and really listen to the needs and wants of what reasonable, opposing voices are seeking. Republucans need to do the same.

We have to learn to compromise so that we each get some of what we want. Being on opposite ends of an on/off switch is not working well enough for any of us. None of us are getting what we want out of this system lately.

It is not that i disagree with what you are saying in theory....but suddenely now you want everyone to come together? After 4 years of telling those same people how stupid they are and wanting to compromise on nothing (not you specifically), now you are ready to be the adult? A week ago you were all about the partisan seperate teams toxicity. You (not you directly) can't treat people like shit and then expect them to suddenly forgive and forget because now your guy won. I fully expect the right to pitch a fit for a year or 2 or 4 just like Dems just did (i hope they don't, but i am not holding my breath)...and that is not even mentioning that there is a decent sized portion of the left that aren't big fans of Biden (especially when not being compared to Trump or evaluating him in a Biden vs Trump type of mindset).

Biden will help mend the divide, especially with the reasonable people towards the middle on the left and right.....but the far left and far right are never going to come together and compromise because they fundamentally think the other side is batshit crazy. And they may both be right in many instances.

What i think will actually improve is that we won't have a president actively fanning the flames of hate. Biden won't do that. His speech tonight was awesome. So was Harris' speech. She isn't my favorite, but it was cool to sit with my 7year old daughter and say "hey listen to this lady talk, she is the first ever female vice president". Cool moment that i won't ever forget, even though she is too young to understand the magnitude of the moment for Harris.

We need to survive the next 2-3 months becuase they are inevitably going to be bizarre. Then i hope Biden can get in there and start getting some shit done.

Healthcare reform.
An executable plan for climate change.
A covid plan/path forward.

Those 3 will be a good start.

Unfortunately Mitch McConnell has already thrown ice water on twocoach and Illy’s hopes. Let’s see if he would reconsider.

It doesn’t appear that anyone other than Romney have publicly congratulated the incoming administration.

Nothing about that tweet was an attack on religion. You are the one trying to make it about that.

BIG difference between trying to use religion to brainwash people with radical ideas and divide people and using religion to try and unite people.
Right?

Yeah, nothing about the tweet was an attack on religion, but that’s not to say certain folks won’t selectively read it as such.

I guess I just hope the language and sentiment of “to marshal the forces of science...in the great battles of our time” isn’t twisted into some kinda reactionary battle cry by the religious right.

Mind, when I recently talked to my Uber Catholic friends, they boldly posited that more than the pandemic, or social justice, or anything else, that “freedom of religion” is thee most important issue Merica faces going forward.

(With more and tougher restrictions on abortion being among the key issues within that freedom of religion)
