I like the reverse frame for this - I'm pretty sure every Chiefs fan was breathing a massive sigh of relief when the XP try was snapped. That means, Todd, you fucked up.twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 11:03 pm What say you all, if you're TB do you go for 2 or not go for 2 after their last TD?
I go for it.
You're either standing there with the ball in your hands with a chance for a walkoff win or Patrick Mahomes is standing there with it in HIS hands with a chance for a walkoff win.
Why the fuck would ANYONE choose the option where Patrick Mahomes has it?!?

Even though conversion rate is lower than 50%, you're the underdogs, you have the momentum, you've seen Mahomes story before.
I had Chiefs -4.5 in my parlay as well so when they kicked it, I also breathed an extra sigh of relief.
There is of course this thinking ( it's a stretch but I can see the angle ):
If you go for 2 and get it, Mahomes and Andy have was it 3 timeouts? At least 2.
And 30 seconds.
They are going for it on 4th down.
They have a kicker who can kick 60 yard field goals.
So because they are tied, they'll play it more conservatively and also be fine with going into OT, and if you get the coin toss, the situation is completely in your hands now.
Re: Chiefs 2024
I had -6.5. It didn’t dawn on me until midway through the Chiefs’ drive that I was drawing dead.pdub wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 7:48 amYup.jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 7:35 amI like the reverse frame for this - I'm pretty sure every Chiefs fan was breathing a massive sigh of relief when the XP try was snapped. Don't need to kick it.jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 7:51 amI had -6.5. It didn’t dawn on me until midway through the Chiefs’ drive that I was drawing dead.

Re: Chiefs 2024
In the rain, going for two was a risk, but if they muffed it, there was time for an onside kick in the wet conditions and KC down receivers. Phew! I was worried about fumbles as it was.
Re: Chiefs 2024
I really wish that
a. the Chiefs didn't have an early bye
b. the Chiefs got to play @ Carolina next instead of v Denver
Mahomes ankle must be preserved.
Remember to end the season we got 3 games in 10 days, which includes two road games in cold conditions.

Re: Chiefs 2024
The argument for kicking the XP is that the Chiefs' defense is actually scarier than its offense right now, especially with Mahomes hobbled.
But that argument lost a lot of juice when the OT rules changed - to win, you're gonna have to deal with the defense in the OT no matter what.
Don't you like your chances better on one play from the 2, than on having to go the length of the field?

Re: Chiefs 2024
I'm genuinely curious what they'll do if they get to 15-0 (which means the #1 seed is done and dusted - this could happen earlier, also, but 15-0 gets you through the Texans game).
Because I agree with you - but the urge to chase immortality will be so strong, and the bye is coming. And you'll be getting Brown back, so perhaps some integration work would be good.
Re: Chiefs 2024
I do.
But again, I think you do have to factor the aggression of a cornered Chiefs/Mahomes team that NEEDS to score or else they loose.
Bowles played it right in the sense I think his scenario came to fruition up until the Bucs called tails and the coin landed on heads.

Re: Chiefs 2024
Basically, Tampa thought that their 50/50 chance at winning the coin toss was higher than the odds they stop Mahomes from driving into field goal range with 27 seconds and 3 timeouts on a gimpy ankle in the rain. What a testament to Mahomes, Reid and the Chiefs right there. The :13 second game vs. the Bills is still scaring the shit out of the rest of the NFL.pdub wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 7:48 amYup.jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 7:35 amI like the reverse frame for this - I'm pretty sure every Chiefs fan was breathing a massive sigh of relief when the XP try was snapped. Re: Chiefs 2024
I only watched a couple minutes last night, and didn’t read any of this so my bad if this has been mentioned/etc.
DHop’s Remember the Titans celebration.
lol. So good.
Glad he got out and can be on a successful team. If we had pieces to use him correctly/efficiently, I’d feel different. But nah.

Re: Chiefs 2024
Reid said Brown was on schedule or a "little ahead of schedule" in his rehab schedule. Who knows what that means as far as an actual calendar. I hope he comes back but I am not expecting it.
Re: Chiefs 2024
He will be very impactful as long as he can stay healthy.
Regarding the celebration, loved it - kind of petty but also pretty funny.
The thing is though, if he's actually upset with the Titans ( not sure if he is or just was tired of Levis as his QB ) you can put the blame on him. The Chiefs would have happily signed him but just not at the cost he got in Tennessee.

Re: Chiefs 2024
No one really knows for sure.
Of course I hope he's out there significantly ahead of schedule.
And Pacheco too.
Re: Chiefs 2024
Yeah, that was really classy and cool. I didn't take it as a dig at Tennessee at all. Hopkins is a very well-respected player in the league and I know the Chiefs players in that locker room want to get guys like Hopkins and Hint their first Super Bowl ring. Just another thing that keeps this team hungry to win instead of being complacent.Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 8:55 am I only watched a couple minutes last night, and didn’t read any of this so my bad if this has been mentioned/etc.

Re: Chiefs 2024
My mental target for Pacheco's return is the Dec. 8th game vs. the Chargers. That should be plenty of time for a fracture to heal and get him back in practice and up to game speed. The nice thing is that he can come back to half a workload of carries now that Hunt is in the fold. KC doesn't need to hand Pacheco the ball 20 times a game.pdub wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 9:00 amNo one really knows for sure.

Re: Chiefs 2024
Mine is one week earlier then that.
A tasty matchup at home vs the Raiders.
( I have Pacheco sitting in my IR in my main league )
