The way you word that, no, that wasn't predicted. Exactly what happened is what was predicted.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 9:44 amFor sure.
Although i guess in todays environment it is "news", but it's also not going to happen.
Just like all the predictions he would refuse to leave the white house and have to be dragged out in handcuffs.

It was predicted around here quite a bit iirc. And worse tbh. Some people here seemed worried he could give himself another 4 years. Heck maybe even end term limits. Wasn't ousdahl wondering what trump would do during his 3rd term?Mjl wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 11:22 amThe way you word that, no, that wasn't predicted. POTDkubowler99 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:38 am They primary point of all of this is that Trump did things that no other president ever even considered doing, and for which our constitution and laws really didn't account. What happens if the first term president loses, but then uses his Congressional supporters to invalidate the election? How do we as a country respond? Who responds? That peaceful transfer of power wasn't exactly on solid ground in January.
We were lucky that even with all of his warts, Pence at least understood his oath and what it meant. Same with that turd of a human, Mitch McConnell. But what happens if in 2022 the democrats lose the majority in one or both houses, and those with some modicum of duty are no longer there? The 100s of voter suppression laws written and being passed across Republican-controlled states is exactly what we are saying it is - a mechanism for the minority (in this case the GQP) to forcibly capture and retain power for the foreseeable future.
This isn't a 'meh, it will be fine' thing - we can actually see the end of democracy in America and it's approaching real fucking quick.
As I posted in January - the biggest hurdle to stopping this ever-quickening train wreck isn't Trump and isn't really the QOP, it's people who continue to claim everything is fine while the building burns around them.
Both sides aren't the same. Both sides don't do it. There is no symmetry here.

Ya. Take a deep breath. The end of democracy in the United States is not approaching.MICHHAWK wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:44 amyou should spend less time on the dark web. you're a nutt.kubowler99 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:38 am This isn't a 'meh, it will be fine' thing - we can actually see the end of democracy in America and it's approaching real fucking quick.
this great country has survived it all in its' 240 something years. we will survive dt. onward and upward.
Kinda depends on who is or isn't allowed to vote.....to some degree.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 11:41 amBut whatever narrative motivates people to vote will be pushed i suppose...MICHHAWK wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:44 amyou should spend less time on the dark web. you're a nutt.kubowler99 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:38 am This isn't a 'meh, it will be fine' thing - we can actually see the end of democracy in America and it's approaching real fucking quick.

I have quite literally for half a decade been very open about hating trump.

this has little to do with hating trump
and that you think i was talking exclusively about you is quite telling

I am not giving him a pass for "trying" or saying he was going to try. I am simply saying whether he tried or not, it was never going to happen/be successful (3rd term / refuse to leave office).PhDhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 1:32 pmBut Illy... he tried.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 11:28 amIt was predicted around here quite a bit iirc. I mean the fact is he failed, but he tried.
Not sure why you're giving him a pass here.
I don't know why you'd be so cavalier about this. I think it very much would have happened, if the GOP held the house and Stacey Abrams hadn't saved all our asses.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 1:46 pmI am not giving him a pass for "trying" or saying he was going to try. you like to accuse the other side of being conspiracy theorists. they got nothing on you tinfoilhatboy .
You may want to learn the difference between "speculated", "discussed" and "predicted".BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 11:28 amIt was predicted around here quite a bit iirc. And worse tbh.
