Cabreara always up at the wrong time. Matheny kind of clueless with pitching choices in the 7th however

Exciting baseball all weekend though. Hope Fish enjoyed the drama. Taking two of three felt pretty good with that Tiger team.

Royals back at .500, kind of surprised after that 11 game losing streak. At least June will be interesting.

Now it’s about hanging around .500 until you get healthy and can add Lynch/Witt/Kowar.

Going to be really curious as to what they do when Witt comes up. Does he go 3rd, Dozier to RF and Whit to 2nd? Lopez to AAA and Alberto as utility..?

I think you want to be pointed to the Witt/3rd scenario you described above. While Dozier hasn't been good at all this year, he's hitting the ball hard and has a track record of success. Lopez hasn't looked like a major league hitter since he was in college.

Yeah I would agree. Something has to be done with Soler. Last year of contract but he's been really bad too. Lopez might be a good utility guy too. He's got a positive WAR while Alberto is negative.

I think the ultimate lineup involves Witt at 3rd, Mondesi at SS, Whit at 2nd, Santana at 1st, Beni in LF, Taylor in CF and Dozier in RF. Soler at DH. Even Salvy at DH more frequently will be alright because Callagher has been actually decent.

Agree with all of that. I'm not writing Soler off yet, either; he's hitting the shit out of the ball (when he hits it).

He's not going to hit 40 homers, or even 30, but I think he'll be a useful piece yet this year (although I do strongly favor using the DH spot to get Sal some dang rest).

Nice to see Keller rounding into a bit of a nice form. 3.58 ERA in May. 27/10 K/BB ratio.

That's what he needs to be.

For those who have been watching the games, man have they been entertaining. Last night was incredible--broke an 11 game winning streak for Tampa. Really bad luck that even Detroit had been playing light's out in May. Survive and advance to June. Dozier has been so bad, epically bad, that I am wondering where he belongs. Don't need a no-hitting right hander just now. Could use another power lefty though.

I guess 1 of 3 is better than 0 of 3 against the best team in the AL East for the last few years.

The Rays are crazy good. Their defense won one of the games. Matheny really not a deep thinker either, Playing for one run we didn't get in extra innings on the road. Using his closer in the 8th. Soler and Dozier just drifting aimlessly into the worst slumps I have ever seen.
