pdub wrote: Fri Dec 13, 2024 9:48 am The scary deal with those guys, for you, is what you just said about Achane.
I think 3 of those 4 guys could have stinker weeks.
I do not see it coming from Thielen ( hell, i'm leaning starting him over DK )...I think Theilen's floor is pretty solid vs Dallas.

Reed's just not getting targets.
Devonta Smith is in an offense thats not passing a lot and AJ Brown just bitched.
I think Chicago will have to throw to keep up with Minnesota.

So it's, weird saying this because of what we thought in the earlier part of the season, benching one of Reed or Devonta. I might go with Devonta because I think Reed's ceiling is much higher and Philly playing a good defense.
That's how my roster is currently set. Benching Devonta. Reed had 9 last week...but 2 tds the week before. Thielen has been hot.

I think they all could have terrible weeks. Its a crapshoot. But Devonta hasn't been the same since his injury, I think he's got some lingering issues and yea, Philly hasn't been throwing the ball much lately.

I was thinking about people who had Purdy and Kupp, both guys you'd absolutely start in a 12 team league, last night while watching the game.

Oof.

Before halftime, I dropped Deebo Samuel from my bench to waivers.

Could just be me hoping, but I just don't see Thielen having a terrible week.
I think Carolina wants to win and Bryce Young wants to show he can be their QB of the future.

2 spots with big decisions.

DK Metcalf v GB ( 25th v WR - high numbers mean tougher defenses ) or Adam Thielen ( 11th ).

Thielen's been hot. Metcalf not. Dallas defense is pretty busted. But Metcalf can get TD's in a hurry.

James Conner v NE ( 9th v RB ), De'Von Achane ( 27th ) or David Montgomery ( 3rd ).

Achane the better player this season but Houston good v RBs ( and very good vs receiving RBs ).
Conner just had 122 yards and a TD vs a slightly tougher Seattle team.
DMont shares carries but seems to get a TD every game.
hope you went with Conner

I did.
I played Chase Brown and James Conner.
I sat Achane and DMont.

I’m down 8 with Jefferson, Bowers and Reichard left.

My trio of Purdy, Jajuan Johnson and Cooper Kupp combined for a super awesome, season killing EIGHT POINTS, about 40 below their projections. One half of rain in a game is SF and my season is probably over. Fucking fantasy football.
Then Davante Adams got 40.5, Gibbs got me a nice 25.5, the Chiefs DST brought home 21 and it became a more interesting 1st playoff game. I went into tonight with 141 points and no one left to play while my opponent had 199 points and D'Andre Swift, Brock Bowers and Kirk Cousins still left to play. It came down to praying the Bears wouldn't pass to Swift in their desperate last drive and that the Raiders didn't get two more points to Brock Bowers on their last drive and I pulled out the win. Pulled out a 2 point win to advance. The NFL thanks you, fantasy football. There's a zero percent chance I watch either of those games on TV without that on the line. Fun night. I feel bad for my opponent, what a way to go out.

On Wednesday morning, I was projected to win by 25
On Friday morning, I was projected to lose by 40
On Monday morning, I was projected to lose by 13

Yummy. No chance I can sleep for awhile now.

I went from projected to win by 25 ( Adams 0 points 1st half, Burrow struggling ) than to loose by 25 ( Davante Adams nuclear + James Cook 2nd TD ) to projected to win by 15 ( Conner 2 TDs, Hurts TD, Broncos fumble recovery TD ) in a span of like 15 minutes at one point Sunday.

The ups and downs of fantasy football playoffs.

Now I face my older brother for the title. He has cheat code Lamar.

Yeah, it's our semifinals this week and I go against the high points winner in my league who has Josh Allen (the guy I should have picked instead of Mahomes). Fingers crossed that all my tweaks I make this week to try to up my ceiling work out. Just cannot have another goose egg from someone like Kupp gave me last week.

Some strategy with waivers with my bro this morning.
I had priority. He has Tank Bigsby as his no. 2 RB. I blocked Jerome Ford.
He blocked me from McMillan on TB.
I ( maybe? ) blocked him from Indy DEF.
He grabbed Zona and Kendre Miller.

Now I gotta decide:
A. Thielen v Zona ( 20th ), DK Metcalf v Minny ( 1st - which is a great matchup - but could be raining and maybe no Geno )
B. Green Bay v NO ( MNF ), Denver @ LAC ( tonight ), Indy v TEN
C. Will Reichard @ SEA ( awesome week last week but could be bad weather ), or Jake Moody @ MIA ( better weather )

Finished my semifinals up 9 with my opponent still having the Green Bay DST left to play vs a terrible New Orleans team. I got 21 points from my Dallas K so I feel fortunate to be in the lead but I don't feel super confident. GB DST has been scoring fantasy points well lately. Fingers crossed I can hang on for dear life.

Sorry but I needed Green Bay tonight.
And I ( and JFish ) got them.
First title in my main league in five years. And I started Hurts.

woulda been just fine if they didn't respond Jacob's for half the game.....or if they'd given it to him on one of the 2 times they were inches from the goal line and decided to throw or hand it to a back up

I unnecessarily bet 100 dollars in hedges on Kendre Miller bc my opponent ( my brother ) had him. 60 total yards and a TD. If I was going to loose the trophy I was gonna get paid out as if I won ( and then some ).

Hindsight I should not have done that as GB dominated and Kendre had 30 total yards and no TDs.

Welp, season over. It was a good year overall considering my first round mistake of picking Mahomes. I'll win enough money to break even for the season and then some. Gotta start reviewing draft results and get a plan together for next season. Now I can just sit back and watch the rest of the season play out.

my main money league championship is this week still.

There's a high probability I take 2nd in both leagues haha

My team absolutely tore it up last week....which usually means I'll have a terrible week this week

there's a very high probability that I'm going to take 2nd place in both my leagues.

unless Jared Goff goes absolutely berserk tomorrow looks like I'm gonna snag my main league title.

Thanks Theilen and Devonta for having their best games of the year and Bijan, Jonathan Taylor and Jayden Daniels for putting up nice big numbers and solid weeks.
