Well, I hope you're right.
But I think the overreach was the kumbaya love fest we were having for playing better against the 7th 9th and 10th teams in the conference than we were playing against the top half of the conference.
Yup.
The thought that we play so much better post Vick just came to a halt.
Again, we beat the two worst teams in the conference at home and almost lost to TCU. And now we looked lost on both ends of the court and got taken to the woodshed worse than we ever have in B12 play.

Not sure what one lazy guard was going to do about what happened yesterday.
Shit, I'm not sure what the 2008 backcourt would have been able to do about what happened yesterday.
Bill got outschemed, and he had worse players. That's no way to go through life.

Maybe when we werent able to find a shot early on he could have gone nova--who knows--but we scored 20 points in the first half.
Ochai and Grimes had nothing.

At least Ochai tried.

I never found myself thinking "boy we need Vick out there" during the game yesterday. But that's just me. I was thinking more like "stop playing 4 guards when 3 of them suck at shooting" and/or "just play dotson dedric Garrett as much as possible, and always have mitch or DMAc in with dedric or together at all times, let grimes and ochai rotate the other guard minutes, never play moore or KJ".

I think he certainly would have helped when we were struggling to score.

My eye test thinks he couldn't have hurt us.

And was the second highest scorer

I don't think Vick would have helped.
But, the notion that we're suddenly a better team without Vick, or that Vick was making guys worse because of his toxic aura, sure seems like a line of bullshit.

I guess i meant helped as on maybe we wouldn't have gotten pummeled as badly or kept it closer earlier in the game.
That Tech team was tossing bank shots and rainbow threes.

Can’t tell if serious. This wasn’t even a shot at your boy.

Figured it was a shot at Vick’s effort.
Boy wolf sort of thing.

We didn't exactly run into the Golden State Warriors. We've made numerous teams look better than they really are at various times throughout the season.

16 for 26 from 3
not much you can do when we don’t have the fire power to punch back, or defensive prowess to get stops

Who knows whether Vick would have brought a few buckets or brought a few turnovers. seems moot.
What we know he didn’t bring was maybe what we needed most:
leadership.

I wonder if Vick was coached on leadership. I wonder if Vick wanted to be the alpha leader many on this board demanded he be.
You know who the leader was last season? A guy that some military-leadership guru identified as a mighty “natural” leader five years ago.
