and i’m sorry, but if one can’t see that (based on the current drama, or by nearly all of trump’s appointments), then they are either of low intelligence, or are fully biased by immigration/racism, having a “conservative” SCOTUS, or some other singular issue, to the point that they really don’t care what trump does outside of that issue
Of course it has. But in order to understand Trump, you have to place him in context, a context I think very few here would agree with.

Let me try it this way: Trump is neither the start of the rebellion against the establishment nor its end. "Hope and change" was the start of the rebellion. And the end, my heavens, the end will be much worse than Trump.
Hey, leave Joe Walsh out of this, pal!
You joke, but Joe Walsh and Bill Kristol are the perfect example of how we go from bad to worse. They're not the only example or even the most likely avenue by which the process will happen, but they are a serious red flag.

all good points. but if we are to fully discuss the rise of Trump and the voters who support him, then the issue of bigotry cannot be overlooked, or overestimated.

those were among the red flags of candidate Trump, yet instead of it killing his chances like it would for any other candidate, it seemed to be just the push he needed.

Exactly!

The voters who voted for Obama twice and then voted for Trump are bigots!

ooh:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obama-Trump_voters

A study by the Democracy Fund Voter Study Group found that 9.2% of Obama voters voted for Trump in 2016.[1] According to the American National Election Study, 13% of Trump voters had voted for Obama in 2012.[2] Some analysts have argued that these voters had a disproportionately large impact on the 2016 election because they were concentrated in key swing states in the Midwest, while others have said that they were actually "Obama Republicans" rather than Democrats to begin with.[1][3] A May 2017 analysis by Global Strategy Group estimated that Obama-Trump voters accounted for more than two-thirds of Hillary Clinton's loss.[4]

hillary took for granted (among other things) that she’d get Obama’s voters

but, i’d be curious also just how many Obama voters didn’t vote at all in 2016

ALL of those numbers are significant.

They don't explain everything, but they do explain a LOT.

It's worth watching the video, if for no other reason than it shows what Ken Starr actually said.

Awkward deflection there but hey, you try. We knew who was all in on courting the bigot vote when Stephen Miller climbed on board.

Well fuck. I was in a place where I couldn't play it, and got burned. My apologies to everyone.

I think it's still pretty damning, but not as damning as the pullout quote makes it seem.
