Seems like the easy solution is to stop worrying about other peoples money.

Or spend it elsewhere.

What people think their purchase of a ticket to attend a sporting event gets them is way out of hand. Never read so many "I paid $250 for my ticket, I have a right to chase these athletes all over social media and flame them for sucking at their job" takes in my life than in the last two weeks watching Chiefs fans make fools of themselves online. Complaining about the play of a team is one thing. Calling them out directly @(whoever) is something else entirely.

KC used to be a town with a reputation of having savvy fans. Now social media giving a megaphone to the loudest idiots is going to ruin that. Yes, any player who is out there paying attention to social media when they are playing like dog shit is just dumb. But good grief, people have lost their damn minds. "Hey let's act like toddlers because we are mad that these insanely talented athletes who have been a part of the greatest run in our team's history are not playing well. Oh, and let's make it so bad that it gets national publicity so that any future free agent has to wonder whether he wants to come play here or not. THAT will show them how mad I am on my couch watching them."

This country has too many fucking morons.

Not being on social media much, I don't see what fans are saying. I only have a FB account and I rarely get on that. Never used twitter, Instagram, or any of the other social media platforms I've probably never heard of. Life is better.

I looked at the standings this morning and came to the conclusion that if the Chiefs beat the Packers a week from Sunday and then go on to beat the Raiders the following week, I honestly think they will win the division.

Twitter is what you make of it. I follow a ton of college hoops people, some Chiefs accounts and fans and that's about it and my feed is pretty normal. I had to stop following a few people who were way too in to the KC Fan "X-Factor" and all the drama around him. I have zero interest in any fan drama.

Like with KU fan sites that post articles (and some KU fans in general), Chiefs fan sites can get a little too preachy and finger wagging towards people who they don't think are acting like the right type of fan. It's lame and annoying but can easily be ignored. Mostly, I just want to read about the team. I enjoy interesting stories about various team members as well as breakdowns of good plays and how they worked.

I can see it from both sides. I really can. These guys are human. They take pride in their work and are prone to having good days and bad just like anyone else. As a someone who is in the spotlight and in the case of Hitch and Ty, who are both veterans you have to smarter. What good comes from that? If you want to bash the 'fan base' behind closed doors by all means go for it but when you both are on the 32nd ranked (or some where near) defense you don't have much leg to stand on.

I use to think what it would like to be famous but having friends who 'are' I want zero parts of that life. None. Being in the spot light 24/7 would get exhausting. Yeah it would be great to be able to afford the things they can but the pressure to be 'perfect' just isn't done seem to be equal.

I'm just guessing that most of the internet heroes trashing Mathieu on instagram aren't ticketbuyers.

Who knows, stupidity knows no limits these days. On a routine basis, I cheer for Facebook and Twitter's server farms to have a catastrophic outage.

I think that makes it look worse for Mathieu, the captain.

Internet trolls are garbage, but Matheiu's response was pretty telling of where he and his unit are at.

To me, I'm the opposite. The more telling response would be from Hitch, a guy who has shown zero emotion since he got there. We all know that Tyrann is prone to go off on his Twitter and now Instagram rants.

I mean either way you can clearly tell this team is frustrated and this next four game stretch will determine whether they are still contenders or if this fan base is about to turn even more 'toxic'.

One nice thing the Chiefs have going for them is 5 of the next 6 games are at Arrowhead.

Giants
Packers
@Raiders
Cowboys
Broncos
Raiders

5-1 doable, 4-2 reasonable

Puts them at 8-5 / 7-6

I'm not sure what all was said and who exactly said it. I had thought I heard that Mathieu called the fan base the most toxic fans in all of sports. Whoever said that, there's nothing good to come out of that. Obvious projecting.

He did say this.
But we're not even the most in the NFL, much less all of sports.
Eagles, Raiders for sure. Pats and Giants and Cowboys.

Hitch, responded to a fan account that posted the top bad moves Veach has made. Of course Hitch was part of that list (and he should be). I don't believe he was tagged directly in the original post but he commented underneath in the comment section of fans being 'ungrateful' for the last three year run and that is when Tyrann commented about the Chiefs having a 'toxic fan base'.

Sorry Hitchens, but all 3.5 years you've been here, you've been graded consistently as one of the worst starting LB's in the NFL.

I'm not one of these idiots who tags the actual players in comments or posts about how crappy they are. That is lame. Now am I a vocal critic of these guys when they aren't playing well on here or other message boards. Absolutely.

Hitch, of all people needs to do a hard look at himself in the mirror because you are right. Not only has he personally not lived up to his own contract he has also been the captain and leader of a defense that has been slightly above average or worse consistently every year he has been a Chief.
