HBO says goodbye to boxing coverage.
Kinda sad even though I didn't watch boxing often:

I grew up loving hbo boxing. Had a boxfull of vhs tapes from recording every telecast. This is sad, but inevitable. ESPN has really picked up the fight coverage, as has Showtime.

I would love to see Max Kellerman continue to do color commentary somewhere.

Promoter Eddie Hearn finalizes Miller-Dinu card, promises 'wild' night of fights

...And so began a whirlwind couple of days during which Hearn made a deal to add Hernandez, the 2016 U.S. Olympic bronze medalist, to the card; the card was moved to the Kansas Star Casino Arena in Mulvane, Kansas -- right outside of Hernandez's hometown of Wichita, where he is a popular ticket-seller -- and the heavyweight main event, Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller against Bogdan Dinu, was finalized.

Whoa, RIP Hugo Santillan.

Second this week...are there always this many boxers dying of brain trauma?

Patrick Day. Dead. R.I.P.
Any sport where the main objective is to knock your opponent unconscious is moronic.
That coming from a guy who's grandfather and great uncle managed boxers.

Speaking of amateur boxing, what do people think of YouTube star Logan Paul and his match vs 4 year retired Floyd Mayweather?

If he's fighting Mayweather 5 years ago, I don't think he has a shot.
Also, there's a lot of rumor that these fights are staged/opponent takes a fall for $$$.

I mean. I do think Askren did get hit pretty hard, but there's no way he got knocked out in one punch. Considering some of the fights he had in MMA. He doesn't go down easily.

But he said he made more than he's made with all his Bellator fights combined. $500,000 base purse not counting any additional earnings from PPV or whatever. Only has made $830K in UFC. So he definitely did it for a payday.

Askren was a wrestler who thought this dude was a joke so he came in fat and out of shape and got knocked out. It didn't look like he staged the match to me. I think he just sucks at boxing and gets knocked out a lot.

He may have started out as a joke, and he's certainly not an elite boxer compared to elite boxers, but he's a big dude and he's being trained by professionals and apparently works at least decently hard.

The other brother (Logan) that floyd is fighting is more famous but not as good at boxing i don't think. He is also not nearly as obnoxious as his younger brother from what i have seen so far.

Floyd will do anything for money, but his ego would never let him lose on purpose.

It's not boxing, it's entertainment, and personally I find that makes it uninteresting. Boxing is a beautiful art, and Mayweather was an amazing artist.

I have no problem with him taking a fight like this, but I don't think I would really consider it boxing.

Bet Ugas to beat Pacquiao tomorrow. He's a pretty big underdog, should be able to get about +300. Should be even odds, and only because judges don't seem to like Ugas.
