Carter Stanley

Of all the things Beaty has screwed up over the last four years, the lack of stability at quarterback due to his pea-brained indecisiveness has to be the worst, right? Carter Stanley just played the best game any QB has played during the Beaty era (75% completion percentage, 3 TDs, 0 turnovers) and he still won't commit to the kid. What is Beaty's obsession with playing multiple quarterbacks? Bravo to Stanley though for still being at KU when he has to know he's the best QB on the roster right now and getting buried on the depth chart. He could probably so somewhere else and be pretty successful like Cozart and Willis.

Zero stability with his staff and he could never find or develop a QB.
I wasn't a big fan of Cozart while he was at KU but once he went to Boise State I watched a couple of games and he looked like an entirely different player.

I lean more toward Beaty being out of his depth than being (or having the capacity to be) sneaky, but: cynically, a coach might vacillate among quarterbacks for the same reason he might shuffle assistants constantly - so that there's always something to do or fix that doesn't reach the top job.

Beaty announced that Stanley is going to be the starter against WVU.

Maybe Bender looks amazing in practice which is why he usually starts. But Stanley has proven he deserves a shot by his game performance. Hopefully he doesn't have to worry about being pulled vs. West Virginia.

Only if his arm falls off. Lord knows we'll be chasing three scores by the end of the first quarter.

Good point.
Also, wouldn't we just be better off rolling with Stanley and turning to Bender if absolutely necessary and just redshirting Kendrick? Why burn a year of eligibility and let him start fresh with a new coach next year.

Well, Kendrick is a sophomore, Stanley a junior, so unless ( and this is very possible ) there's turnover after a coach replacement, Kendrick and Stanley would both be competing for the QB spot next year as well.

We could always just offer more money. That would level the playing field, right?

You'd have to pay me a lot ( if I wasn't a Kansas fan ) to go to a program like KU.
Best WR graduating.
Offensive line meh.
New coach.
