Month ago maybe.

Went to Rye, Char Bar, The Oliver and Beer Kitchen this weekend ( ranked in order of how much I liked em ).
All were solid - I had been to Rye in Leawood before.
They made great fried chicken.

Char Bar's brunch of brisket and eggs hit the spot.
Oliver's Chorizo Chilaquilles delicious but the potatoes were meh and the bloody mary was too potently weird ( green chile vodka ).
Beer Kitchen Hogtied sandwich was tasty but their beer selection was worse than I expected and their fried green tomatoes were a letdown.

Yeah I was just getting ready to walk to Panera for lunch. Guess that's not gonna happen.

Right by TomFooleries, another spot I hit up this weekend.
Guess I would have been safer in Westport.

Just walked by there. Looks like two different locations. One by tom fooleries and the other in front of shake shack.

The same could be said about many/most dining choices in this country.

Back to having to go through metal detectors....
Sorry this isn't KC related but it is metal detector/security related.
Why is it I can walk in to City Hall in Chicago, get in an elevator, get off on the 5th floor, and walk in to the Mayor's office without having to go through ANY security measure and yet in many of the office buildings in Chicago I have to be put on a security/guest list, go to a security desk, show identification, and then be given a "pass" of some kind to get up to the office I am going to?
