Mega Millions

Post by TDub »

Now 868 million. Wow. I might actually buy a ticket or two. After taxes that may pay for a cheeseburger. Really though that is an astounding amount of money to win on a publicly funded gamble. What are the chances that it hasn't been sonehow corrupted and rigged?

868 million dollars could help..... ah fuck it! Nevermind. Who cares?
The lottery is evil. Pure evil. I am curious as to what the suicide rate is for the evening and then day after a 500 million plus dollar lottery draw is - compared to other days of the week.
People spending their last dollar/s on a dream and then realizing there life is back to horse shit broke reality. Fnatastic!
Hey - Can't win if you don't play. Good luck TDub! Play away playa!

Who cares. If someone spends their last dollar that is their problem, not mine.

Like you said, can't win if you don't play. I will purchase one ticket. Fantasizing about how I am going to leave my family if I win, is well worth the price of admission.

If I win, I'll get the payout over 30 years and then call JD Wentworth.

I had that stupid jingle playing on a loop in my brain for about a week. Crazy.

I'm still fairly young enough that I would take the Annuity option. Get more of the winnings and get anywhere from 10-30M per year.

You would earn more taking the lump and investing it. Unless you think you will blow it all in the first five years, lump sum is almost always the right choice.

Good point. But it would also be fun to see $15 million or so deposited every year and go from there.

But I like the "I went broke after winning the lottery shows." Those people are just plain dumb. I'd like to think I have some sort of financial knowledge to not blow it all.

Or a POTD option?

Id love to be faced with the arduous decision of lump sum vs annual payment.
