Bad news, Leawood
Bad news, Leawood
Four wins and Beaty stands a good chance of coming back.
This team has showed progress, that can't be denied.

Not sure where that last win might come from.
ISU is pretty good. They have quality wins under their belt. Easy win for them.
Won’t beat OU. Might not stay within 50 of OU.
K-State is down this year, but still two touchdowns better than KU.
Won’t beat Texas. They are on the way back up.
I predict we lose out and Beaty gets the pink slip he deserved last year right after the Texas game.

Shoot. TCU beat ISU.
They're not invincible. Neither are the rest of 'em.
Go KU!

Re: Bad news, Leawood
Home games are important though. This season had a weirdly tough string of road games in the League. Even after the KU bye, Tech hadn't played for 10 days after having its own bye before a very odd league Thursday game. The Big XII schedule seems to advantage teams like Texas Tech. Beaty is stubborn and shows a lack of judgment oftentimes, but this team might still win a few more. ISU and KSU are not great teams. Yesterday the team played almost mistake-free. Might have another year.
Re: Bad news, Leawood
Exactly. This is the referendum for Beaty. Two definite losses on the horizon. Two likely losses. If he turns ISU or K-State into a win, he might save his job. Might.ChalkRocker wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 5:05 pm Shoot. TCU beat ISU.

He has to go. You can’t do the kind of crappy job Beaty has done and there not be consequences.chiknbut wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 6:09 pmExactly. This is the referendum for Beaty. Such bs, sir. You conflate a sporting chance in a game on the field w/ a "referendum".chiknbut wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 6:09 pmExactly. This is the referendum for Beaty. Re: Bad news, Leawood
Yeah he has to win against both ISU and kstate to even have a shot at keeping his job.
The talent in the program falls off a bit after this year. I think Long knows this. Beaty is 3-5 with his most talented team, he'll be really bad in the next couple of years with talent not being as high as it is this year.

Re: Bad news, Leawood
If Beaty can somehow get this team two more wins this season, and be 'eligible' for a bowl game, I wouldn't be against keeping him.
I don't think he can do this with a road game v ksu and a good ISU team visiting.

Don't you have to have six wins to be bowl eligible?

Well ISU did lose to TCU. So I mean, they are good, but certainly able to be beaten. Will be interesting to see how freshman QB does on the road in first road start. He came on after an injury in road win at oSu. Does get sacked often, and is kind of reckless with the ball inside the pocket. Let's that thing hang down often.
The kstate game will be interesting. KU has been within the spread the last 2 years. Beaty has treated that game much more seriously than his predecessors. But I will say there does seem to be a growing group of staters that are getting worrisome about Snyder and the progress they're making. They went down to Norman and looked like a team KU has sent down there far too often. Outmatched, outcoached, out-everything. I mean, even their biggest fan/journalism website is calling for Snyder to be done..

No, there have plenty of teams recently that have been to a bowl with 5 wins. If there are not enough teams to fill all the bowl spots, the bowl will pick a 5-7 team. And for a program like KU, you take a bowl game at 5-7 any day.

Re: Bad news, Leawood
I sympathize with Beaty. He was handed an absolute turd of a program, run into the ground by offensive-genius Charlie Weiss. Five wins and a Bowl game is Big XII Coach of the Year material for this program.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 9:57 amNo, there have plenty of teams recently that have been to a bowl with 5 wins. Can't think it's going to happen. But hey, we're talking KU football.

I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be a PITA, but this discussion is why I don't linger more.
FB prgms grow slowly. They just do. Beaty is a f***ing MAN of a coach.
He took a job which, for a hundred reasons, looked like career hell.
No flippin' schollies, a fanbase which acts like it don't know jack and don't care, and an AD that gets smoked halfway into his contract.
I am FOR this guy, this TEAM, and all of you as well. Go Jayhawks! It is that simple.
