I wanted to start a thread only on this subject...Give names you are hearing or names you would like to hear for these jobs.

I am hoping Bowen doesn't stay in the DC spot.

Here are my hopes based on Miles relationships...

OC Philip Montgomery

DC Kevin Kane (with help from Def Line Coach Bill Young)

OC
Would like - Montgomery and Fisch

Wouldn’t mind - Fedora

DC
Would like - Chavis, Kevin Steele, Kevin Kane

Wouldn’t mind but unlikely reunion - Bo Pelini. I can dream right?

I like Bowen @ DC. He knows his stuff and did a good job. Pelini is a toxin.

Yeah. Pelini I think is only a toxin when running the show. Think he’d be good as a DC just focused on defense.

I’m in the minority on keeping Bowen as DC too. I should have included him. I would much rather him be maybe a position coach with a co-DC title. Defense has not been the problem during Beaty’s time here.

Had we had an offense the last couple of years Bowen's defensive stats would look much much better. Probably top 25 good. We also probably wouldn't have our new coach. I like Bowen a lot.

Rumor is that Kingsbury is being let go at Tech. Go get him Les. Because although Les talked about ball control offense and all that. Kliff has averaged 42 points per game in his 8 years or so running an offense.

A name to keep in mind that no one is talking about is Phil Bennett.

Yeah. He'd be ok. Defense did give up a lot of points when he was at Baylor. But I think some of that had to do with track meet games that Baylor was always in.

And he also is still recovering from neck and knee surgeries.

I think Kingsbury stays if he beats Baylor tommorrow.

Tech got beat by Baylor. Tulsa may sneak by SMU. Does 3-9 keep Montgomery his job in Tulsa? Does 5-6 after losing your first two top QB's get you fired in Lubbock?

UNC made it official they would not retain Fedora.

Fedora was on some posters lists as the next Kansas Head Coach before Miles. He will just have to spend a few season as the OC first.

I’d be somewhat alright with Fedora as OC. And then just chill with a Head Coach in waiting designation and then take over by 2025 or whatever.

Probably wouldn’t happen, but there would be worse things.

Larry Fedora has proven himself to be an obnoxiously strange couch-nozzle. Please no.

Don’t need him to lead the program from the podium now. Just coach the best offense for this team. The other things will fall into place.

*douche not couch, obviously, but you are anointing him coach in awaiting - which put him on the podium eventually. Not a stable representative for Ol' KU.

Agree with both Newton and Arj. Fedora would be just fine as OC--a good hire. But, I have a hard time rooting for football coaches that are dolts outside of x's and o's. The only good thing about KU not taking football seriously is we've managed to not make a win-at-all-costs hire.

There is a Pelini for DC rumor and now I won’t be able to sleep from excitement until it’s announced.
