Dedric 3rd team AA.
Has argument to be 2nd over Happ or Hachimura.

1st team
Zion, Barrett, Grant Williams, Morant, Cassius Winston

Culver on 2nd team.

After watching Edwards, I'd probably throw him in there over Barrett or Morant. But, no biggie.

I think you could argue Culver 1st team, as well.

I think it should be Zion, Morant, Grant Williams, Culver and Winston/Edwards.

Dedric should be 2nd team over Happ. I just don’t get the infatuation with Happ. Yeah he’s good, but his defense and FT shooting are far below average. Dedric scores more. They tied in rebounds. And Dedric gets the edge for being a better Ft shooter and outside shooter.

Happ shot 5 3s all year. 5!

I'd have Edwards ahead of Culver by a wide margin.

The interesting thing about Zion over Barrett on the AA team is that I think Barrett has been their MVP. He's their only main guy to not miss time due to injury, he just doesn't have the highlight reel that Zion does.

Happ feels like more of a lifetime achievement award in terms of why he'd be ahead of Lawson. It's not fair, but the end of the streak, and being well below expectations hurt Lawson for these things.

Check out all the different players who are leading a category.
You could have a case for saying Happ was every bit as important, if not more, to the success of Wisconsin that Lawson was to KU.

I will say that Lawson's sub 2.0 APG stat is kinda disappointing given Self's endorsement of him as being the best passer he's had.

Well, I'd guess he lost out on a lot of potential assists when Doke went down.

3.1 APG in games Dok played in.

Talking advanced stats Dedric had a higher win share and higher PER while playing a tougher SOS.
In basic stats, he averaged 2 more PPG, and that's with defenses completely keying on him after Dok and Vick were out.

I see why Happ is there - but there's argument for Dedric to also be there.

I think what Self mostly meant was that Dedric was the best post entry passer that he's had. He expects every guy to make a pass to the wing from the block or whatever. Dedric wasn't expected to pass much when he got it. He was expected to score.

But I believe that Dedric would have gotten at least 3-4 apg at the high post feeding Dok, who has sealed his guy off.

I think Self would have much rather had Dedric go from 15/10/4 and Dok go 13/12 and have teams try to beat that. Instead Dedric went 20/10/1 because he had no one to pass to.

Assists are also hard to rack up when the guy you're passing to is just as likely to hit the side of the backboard as he is to make the shot.
