President Donald Trump's businesses reported losses of $1.17 billion from 1985 to 1994, The New York Times reported Tuesday, citing information from tax documents from those years.
Trump lost so much money that he AVOIDED* paying income taxes for eight of the 10 years, according to the newspaper.
It appears Trump lost more money than nearly any other individual US taxpayer year after year, the Times reports, according to the 10 years of tax information the newspaper acquired.

*Note that Trump avoided, not EVADED (which is against the law) paying income taxes. People who do not have an understanding of tax deductions with business investments (or tax carryover losses) will likely attempt to make a big deal out this.

Didn't Trump's sister just retire from being a federal judge because the family evaded taxes?

I think the concerns over his tax returns are likely multiple of these:

* He's not actually as rich/successful as he says he is;

* He was bailed out of dire financial straits by, in essence, laundering oligarch/OC money;

* He has underpaid his legal tax obligations; and/or

* He has secured loans and insurance based on financials that are out of step with his reported income.

To avoid income taxes is what Americans do when filing their taxes, (that's why there are legal tax deductions), but to EVADE means deliberately giving false information or cheating. Big Difference.

It's kinda weird to say, but I almost think Trump would be more concerned about that much.

(and all along I've guessed that he either didn't want people to know he was broke, and/or he owed money to foreigners, but I think Fish said it better)

Good to know that you approve of criminality. I believe that the sister left the federal bench because of questions of investigations into Tax Fraud.

Don't we have a government program that is charged with handling, dealing with, investigating, auditing the citizens tax returns.

Yep, that's the job of the IRS, (not politicians in Congress, or people who are ignorant of the U.S. tax code).
