Four toddlers were so severely ill and neglected at a U.S. Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas, that lawyers forced the government to hospitalize them last week.
The children, all under age 3 with teenage mothers or guardians, were feverish, coughing, vomiting and had diarrhea, immigration attorneys told HuffPost on Friday. Some of the toddlers and infants were refusing to eat or drink. One 2-year-old’s eyes were rolled back in her head, and she was “completely unresponsive” and limp, according to Toby Gialluca, a Florida-based attorney...[/i]

No kidding. I can't believe republicans have become so infatuated with an ugly American carnival barker, white trash with his daddy's cash, know nothing/ignorant self-proclaimed sexual predator like Trump. But, it's apparently OK to treat these children like they're subhuman, just like they treat people of color like lessor citizens by suppressing their votes, because
"these children" are brown.
Seriously, if those were white American kids, do you think for one minute Americans would stand for it? Stand for treating these children, some of whom are toddlers, like animals?
Fuck republicans for staying silent and allowing this stain on our nation.
And don't even get me started on the hypocrisy of evangelical "Christians".

Now, now - Falwell has been busy forming an Eiffel Tower for his wife with the Cuban pool boy. He doesn’t have time to be concerned about brown children and toddlers.

There are some people in the Department of Justice that probably should resign. That attorney can't believe some of the things that came out of her mouth.

Maybe I gave the lady credit for having a shred of human decency when that was not the case.
My mistake.

Not to criticize anyone, but should have given up her federal pension and benefits over this? She looked to be in her forties. That is kind of late in life to start over with no retirement.

Many.
Nearly 30 Women Have Miscarried While Detained by ICE Since 2017.
Just days after reports circulated that a 24-year-old Honduran woman delivered a stillborn baby after going into premature labor while she was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency admitted that she was not the only woman to go through such an experience in government custody.According to documents released by the agency, as many as 28 women have had miscarriages while in ICE detention between the fiscal years of 2017 and 2018, as reported by the Arizona Republic.
This is a marked increase: The number of immigrant women who have miscarried in ICE detention has nearly doubled under Trump, according to a report from the Daily Beast. The number of pregnant women in custody has also increased, the result of a widely criticized Trump-era policy that ended the practice of exempting them from being held in detention centers.

Reporting abuse, activists work to end detention for pregnant migrants
Holy water must flow from the faucets of the Otay Mesa Detention Center in San Diego, immigrants held there joke. Why else would "drink more water" be the prescription for almost all their medical needs?
The situation is far from funny for detainees who experience health issues, including the pregnant women who have been detained for increasing lengths of stay since U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, eliminated their presumption for release over a year ago.
Catholic and other immigrant rights groups have documented cases of pregnant women in immigrant detention experiencing inadequate medical care, verbal and physical abuse, and stressful conditions that negatively affect their health and that of their unborn children. While immigrant rights advocates would like conditions to improve, they also say it's inappropriate to detain pregnant women at all.
