the recruiting thread is nice and all but for fuck's sake when a guy commits is it really too much to ask for his own thread?

Interesting if Self is thinking perhaps it's best to now go the Nova/UConn/Virginia route to win a National Championship.

I love that we're set for the next several seasons. We just need to get a few bigs in the upcoming clas and we should be great.

The best Self teams have 2 guys who can handle the ball well. That will be the case in a few years with McBride and Harris.

I wonder how much of this strategy is just Self hedging his bets, knowing that not every player works out.
For every Frank and Devonte, we've had just as many Marty Frankamps and Charlie Moores.

The thing I like best is that in his quotations he first talks about playing defense. That's a good sign.
I also like that he seems to be a pass-first PG. Miles and RussRob were probably the last ones we've had.

Still recruiting blue chip PG's and CG's. Also have ballhandlers in Garrett and Braun. I'd put the chances of both McBride and Harris sticking around at like 40%.

Maybe. I can tell you I'd be more confident right now as Harris, not McBride.

Right, I think he's more like 75% to stay.

I know we live in an age were no one is patient and wants everything to happen now but if McBride, Braun and Harris can stick it out for a year and maybe even less they have a chance to be a part of something special and in a year create something special.

Yes. I really like how this class sets up as a foundational class that's going to make some future team's floor a #1 seed.

I don't think it's an either/or scenario. Dotson is for sure not here after this season. So we'll need another PG and other than Dotson we don't have a good track record with 5* PGs.
The only reason to think one of McBride or Harris will be gone is if neither can play off the ball, and McBride was listed as a CG by recruiting sites, so he might be the guy who slides over to the 2 spot.
If we want to go small, a possible lineup for a year (or 2) from now would be Harris, McBride, Braun, Enaruna, and a Big (McMack or someone not yet on the roster).
