I pledge Allegiance to the NRA

Post by seahawk »

and accept the 11th Commandment that reads "Thou shalt not restrict anyone from having unlimited assault rifles and ammunition."

Texas GOP Lawmaker Adamantly Swears To Never Vote For Gun Control

Do something!” is the statement we keep hearing. As an elected official with a vote in Austin, let me tell you what I am NOT going to do. I am NOT going to use the evil acts of a handful of people to diminish the God-given rights of my fellow Texans. Period. None of these so-called gun-control solutions will work to stop a person with evil intent. I say NO to “red flag” pre-crime laws. NO to universal background checks. NO to bans on AR-15s, or high capacity magazines. NO to mandatory gun buybacks. What can we do? YES to praying for victims. YES to praying for protection. YES to praying that God would transform the hearts of people with evil intent. YES to fathers not leaving their wives and children. YES to discipline in the homes. YES to supporting our public schools. YES to giving every law-abiding single mom the right to carry a handgun to protect her and her kids without permission from the state, and the same for all other law-abiding Texans of age. YES to your God-given, constitutionally protected rights. YES to God, and NO to more government intrusions.

Two word response to Matt Schaefer - FUCK YOU!

Too many word response to Matt Schaefer -

Do something!” is the statement we keep hearing. As an elected official with a vote in Austin, let me tell you what I am NOT going to do.
* What you're not going to do is use your fucking brain nor give a damn about ways to make this stop.

I am NOT going to use the evil acts of a handful of people to diminish the God-given rights of my fellow Texans.
* God didn't give anyone shit in terms of "legal" and "constitutional" rights but let's pretend he/she/it did.

Period. None of these so-called gun-control solutions will work to stop a person with evil intent.
* Ummmmm..... "none"? You know ALL of them? Here is a simple one. If someone who is "evil" doesn't have a gun - they can't shoot someone else. Right?

I say NO to “red flag” pre-crime laws.
* Really? Who the fuck cares if some whacked out nut job has a gun. It's his/her "god-given" right.
I mean if someone were to post on social media that they hated some asshole District 6 representative in the Texas House of Representatives and were going to do something drastic to him and/or his family - who cares if that person owns a gun and in no way should anyone raise a "red flag" to make sure he doesn't own a gun and/or plans to use it?

NO to universal background checks.
* But we gosh damn better make sure no fucking illegals are in this country and if they are - put them and their children in a fucking cage. I want to get on an airplane through TSA "Pre-Check", I have to have a background check. I suffer from "mental illness" and want to own a gun - no problem. Go get myself one hassle free. No background check. Makes perfect sense.

NO to bans on AR-15s.
* Because everyone needs an AR-15 for.........

NO to mandatory gun buybacks.
* Not sure what specifically you are referring to but hey - lets keep guns in the hands of "bad guys".

What can we do? YES to praying for victims.
* Praying for victims? VICTIMS? Your fucking prayers do them NOTHING after they have been shot.
How about praying for people BEFORE they become "victims"?

YES to praying for protection.
* Shame the man who fucked the woman and the woman that gave birth to you didn't use protection.
That's right, I'm sorry - "good" Christians don't use protection.

YES to praying that God would transform the hearts of people with evil intent.
* Pray all you want but as long as people have the devil in them your prayers aren't going to do jack shit.

YES to fathers not leaving their wives and children.
* So it's only people who were raised by a single mother that shoot others?

YES to discipline in the homes.
* "Discipline" as in kick your child's ass and beat him/her to a pulp if they don't eat their beans that you told them to eat? That will teach them!

YES to supporting our public schools.
* Not sure what public and private schools have to do with anything in regards to gun control but hey - you have my "yes" in terms of supporting public schools.

YES to giving every law-abiding single mom the right to carry a handgun to protect her and her kids without permission from the state, and the same for all other law-abiding Texans of age.
* "Without permission"? What does that even mean? I sure as heck would hope the state would have some type of regulation or at least registration.

YES to your God-given, constitutionally protected rights.
* Here we go again with you using "god-given" and "constitutionally protected" rights.
Here I go again telling you that GOD didn't give anyone "constitutionally protected" rights.

YES to God.
* Fuck God in terms of this discussion. God doesn't give a flying fuck about gun shot victims and those who have shot them. Just as God doesn't give a flying fuck that my friend just lost his daughter to cancer and doesn't give a fuck about the many kids who are in the hospital 3 blocks from me right now who will leave the hospital dead.

NO to more government intrusions.
* Plenty of "government intrusions" other than gun control right now - and plenty more on the table.
Ones your fellow politicians have implemented and you have supported.

I wonder how this dude feels about no more government intrusions upon a woman's constitutionally protected right to choose?

‘Whose side are you on?’: Police chief rips McConnell, Republicans for opposing ‘boyfriend loophole’ law after shooting death

Standing outside the medical examiner’s office Monday, Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo waited to escort the body of a fallen police sergeant to a funeral home. Just two days earlier, Sgt. Christopher Brewster was killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic violence call.

But to Acevedo, the fatal incident could have been prevented if the suspect who police say pulled the trigger, Arturo Solis, never had access to a gun in the first place.

In blistering remarks to reporters outside the medical examiner’s office, Acevedo slammed Republican leaders for failing for months to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, specifically calling out Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Republican Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn of Texas for not supporting a provision that would prohibit dating partners convicted of domestic violence from possessing firearms — like Solis.

Acevedo accused McConnell, Cruz and Cornyn of being too afraid to support the provision because of retribution from the National Rifle Association.

“We all know in law enforcement that one of the biggest reasons that the Senate and Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn and Ted Cruz are not … getting the Violence Against Women Act [reauthorized] is because the NRA doesn’t like the fact that we want to take firearms out of the hands of boyfriends who abuse their girlfriends,” Acevedo said Monday.

“And who killed our sergeant? A boyfriend abusing his girlfriend,” he added...

Almost every industry is attempting to do the same thing. No one wants thwir business to fold. Unions across the country are fighting for similar things, fighting for jobs and job retention, job creation, job protections. This is a non story other than it says GUN.

If you dont want a gun then dont fucking go buy one.

Kentucky deemed the following essential.

Grocery stores
Pharmacies
Gas stations
Liquor stores

I was really surprised that gun shops were not part of it.

When was the last time a medical professional wrote a prescription to a patient for a gun?

This is absolute a story. Of course, my callous response would be well then keep it open and catch the virus. But if you are responsible for spreading then you must be financially and criminally liable.

Also, why is the NRA joining the lawsuit? The AMA or PhRMA is not joining any effort to keep pharmacies open!

No, the NRA is not an industry, it's a lobbying group that is run basically by 3 people (at least according to Joe Scarborough) that appeals to a select group of gun nuts who follow these highly paid lobbyists.

That select group doesn't include most of the NRA membership.

Did I hear right that churches and gun stores were deemed essential businesses in Kansas?

Ah, I found it.

If they're smart, they won't close liquor stores. With hospitals already unable to handle the surge in patients due to COVID, there's no need to add people experiencing alcohol withdrawal to the hell on earth our emergency rooms and hospitals have, or are, becoming.
