She's trying to walk a fine line -- distance herself from Trump enough to remain politically viable nationally, while supporting him enough that she remains politically viable in the GOP.

I think you just described everyone not on the Devin Nunes-Jim Jordan-Louis Gohmert Wing of the Republican Party

How exactly are those three "distancing themselves" from Trump?

She's another Trump sycophant.

I expect her to be the GOP nominee in 2024.

After the way she said that Trump is everything she tries to teach her kids not to be while supporting “little Marco’s” candidacy in 2016, she had better work on her tight rope walking skills. Because otherwise, she’s beginning to look like yet another version of that paradigm of principled veracity, Leningrad Lindsey.

I'm certain your concerns will weigh heavily on her.

She's cagier than most here would like to admit. Her bitchslapping of Sebastian Gorka on Twitter tonight is precisely the way she will walk the tightrope: I did my duty to the American people and their president, but I won't tolerate bullshit from the radicals. I actually think that twocoach is thinking small. A 2024 run is certain, but she's also positioning herself now, in case Trump is irreversibly damaged over the next two months.

Oh, ouchie. So burningish.

That, or if Trump isn't "irreversibly damaged", she's jockeying to take Pence's place on the ticket in 2020 to try attract the suburban white female demographic back to the "Family Values", "Strong On Communism", "Law and Order", "Fiscal Responsibility" party, and principles are transactional when it comes to furthering your career:

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley described Donald Trump as someone a parent would not want to model for their children, unlike Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

"Donald Trump is everything we hear and teach our kids not to do in kindergarten," Haley told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos on Sunday. "We have seen this behavior over and over again that's unacceptable."

Given the awfulness of anyone from South Carolina in our national politics ever since the Founding, the thought of Nikki Haley seems scary.

One of my worst fever dreams as a democrat was that Mitt Romney and Nikki Haley would decide to rise above naked political ambition and take the risk of deciding to run in 2020 as a "ticket" against a weakened Trump and Pence. I didn't give it much thought, but knowing that Romney's seat in Utah is safe no matter what and how attractive a candidate Nikki Haley is (was?), it was not something I wanted to contemplate. And, it was naive of me to not be more aware of Haley's ambition. But now, considering Haley's fealty to Trump, especially in light of her previous statements, it turns out that she's just another republican putting her own interests ahead of the country's. Because
hypocrite:

"I talked to him multiple times, and when I had issues, he always heard me out,” Haley said Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show. “I never had any concern on whether he could handle the job ever."

“What about his truthfulness?” host Savannah Guthrie pressed, repeating her question. “Did you think he was a truthful person?"

"Yes, in every instance I dealt with him, he was truthful, he listened and he was great to work with,” Haley responded...

Yeah Nikki, "in every instance (you) dealt with him"...

Best of luck with that, Nikki.

It's probably just me, but imo, anyone who is asking Americans to hire them, especially as our president, who sees that as "a fine line", is someone who is ethically challenged, until proven otherwise.

I would consider NH if she would unbutton the top two buttons.
