Transfers

Post by PhDhawk »

So with Cunliffe having success at Evansville (17 ppg, beat UK), I wondered how other guys who left KU were doing.

Charlie Moore is 4-0 DePaul's leading scorer and assist-man at 16.5 and 4.5
Quentin Grimes had 13 pts 5 reb 3 ass in his lone game at Houston
KJ Lawson is getting 13.5 ppg 6.5 rbg 5 apg and 2 spg for Tulane
Carlton Bragg going for 14/9 and shooting nearly 60% at New Mexico

That's not actually a bad starting 5. I'd have them picked to finish 4th in the Big12 if they were a team.
I only came to kick some ass...

Rock the fucking house and kick some ass.

Good post PhD.

Good for Q for getting some points in his debut. Hopefully it carries over for the year.

Charlie Moore scoring like that just surprises the hell out of me. He did the same at Cal, and was GOD AWFUL at KU. Why so?

Maybe Charlie is a good high-volume guy on a bad team?

Wait, apparently he’s also shooting 59% and 52% from deep.

Those numbers will prob average out over the season, but dang.

I watched Houston for a half a few nights ago.
Grimes looked exactly the same as he did at KU.

Underwhelming.

The common denominator(s) of all those guys is that they were below average to terrible at KU and above average-ish at mid-majors. I think it's pretty easy to understand what is going on.

What PED do you suppose Grimes is taking? Fried chicken and canned green beans?

Grimes highlight reel!

he actually looks serviceable and makes some plays. Granted, it's against Alabama St, and in front of a packed house of about 175 fans.

What was the sitch with his hardship waiver? There wasn't a scholarship available at KU any more? As in, Self didn't want him back?

Same stuff we saw at Kansas. Hit a 3 here or there. Best passer on team. Weak at the rim.

Wait, best passer?

I mean he averaged all of 2 dimes a game last season, and not without the opportunities to create.

If he indeed didn’t have a scholly available here, that means Self either thought he just didn’t have the game, and/or didn’t have the character, to be worth bringing back...
