Woulda rather the Bills or Pats.

Drafting Deshaun Watson would not have been a mistake either. Anyone but Trubisky.

Watson is scary but you should be able to attack that Texan defense.

Story: Carlos Hyde.
Chiefs good call or not?

Hyde has been playing as hard as anyone really. Being cut or traded lit a fire. But his skill is lacking. He might try to do too much.

If Fuller is out, we win.
We lost without our best players but Fuller dropped three gimmie td/35 yard gains.
He changes the Texans.

Also clearly go Titans next game.
A crazy upset v LJax and co. would do us wonders.

Texans were most scary out of the 3 teams. But they still aren’t good. Chiefs got up 17-3 against them in first quarter without Fisher, Chris Jones, Watkins and a healing Hill and Mahomes. Still lost but they were so banged up there.

But yes, Chiefs would have beat Bills or Pats by double digits easily, IMO. Still think they beat Texans by at least a score, but it’ll be close for a while.

Without Will Fuller, i agree that they win by at least a score.

Injury karma has got to come our way once this season, no?

Barring a set back Fuller will play. How good he will look remains to be seen.

No Thornhill patrolling the deep could be interesting. I might imagine a lot of two deep safeties look while bracketing Nuk.

Should be a very interesting game.

Fuller will for sure be a key piece.

Hope to be in KC in two weeks.

Ward will have to play big. He’ll have Hopkins all game. And he has done well all year.

The Chiefs will give up big plays to Nuk and maybe Fuller. I’m not asking them to shut down Watson either. The thing they can’t let happen is Hyde going for 100 on the ground. If that happens it spells disaster.
Chiefs will have to give this game away for them to lose. The Texans best doesn’t beat the Chiefs best.

Crazy to think that the WRs that day, per snap # were Robinson and Pringle.

My hope against hope is that Reid will turn the dogs loose for the playoffs and stop with his ultra-conservative game plans that seem to end up with us losing the big games because we settled for three yard run plays and field goal attempts.

I want to believe that Reid will unleash the full potential that this offense has. I believe most of that has had to do with the large amount of injuries and the constant shuffling of the o-line. Now that this team is as healthy as it ever will be and they stare down the reality of a win or go home scenario it is time, as the great D-Block once said to, ‘let your nuts hang.’

Just when you thought the Chiefs were over the injury curse of 2019, Chris Jones injures his calf in practice.

Unless you saw that posted some where else he is listed with a calf injury. No idea if it happened in practice, weights, at his house, etc. It could have been something that had been lingering and the staff wanted to pull back on his reps. Same thing with Kelce. LP designation all week.

Now that being said, coming off of a bye week you never want to see guys added to the injury report much less two of your most important players. I have feeling both will play and it won't be a issue.

Probably.
Meanwhile Will Fuller still limited in practice.
Likely the same deal as Jones and Kelce though.

Fuller might be a little different considering he has dealt with that injury for awhile. Muscle injuries are never good especially for a fast, quick start athlete like Fuller. You throw in cold weather that doesn't make for a great recipe on Sunday.

It will be interesting to see what his designation will be today. There are certain guys who just know what they can get out of their bodies on gameday but Fuller has been out since week 16. That would be hard to expect much out of him on Sunday if I haven't seen him go full speed for a full practice and how his body reacted the next day.

Groin injury in the cold is not a good recipe for him being a big time player on Sunday.

Weather is something that hasn't been brought up much yet. The Texans play in a dome. They play the Colts, who play in a dome. They play the Jags who are in Florida and they play the Titans, who is mostly in a warmer weather environment. Texans have lots of players on offense from warm weather. Watson didn't leave South Carolina until drafted by Texans. Same with Hopkins. Carlos Hyde is about the only skill guy who played majority of time in colder weather with him at Ohio State.

The Texans last played a cold game in November at Baltimore. Wind Chill of 39 degrees on a Sunday afternoon. They lost 41-7. Watson was 18-29 with 169 yards and 0 TDs and 1 INT. They had 232 TOTAL YARDS.

Weather for Sunday is a 20% chance of snow early afternoon and then rain after 3pm. High of 36.

Mahomes last played a cold weather game in December. When it was snowing multiple inches and had his best game of the year with 27-34 with 340 yards and 2 TDs and 1 INT.

Chiefs are suited for the colder, crappy weather because they've played in it. Houston hasn't even sniffed it yet.

Bigger factor than many realize, I think.

Cue the soft orchestral background music and slo-mo footage:

“January 12th, 2020. The frozen tundra of Arrowhead Stadium proved an inhospitable wasteland for the once-potent Houston Texans offense . . .”
