I think we've read this argument on these forums.

An in-depth, revealing article about this guy Barr, who seems to exemplify the worst of the Nixon and Trump administrations.

“Secularists, and their allies among the ‘progressives,’ have marshalled all the force of mass communications, popular culture, the entertainment industry, and academia in an unremitting assault on religion and traditional values,” he said. Barr, a conservative Catholic, blamed the spread of “secularism and moral relativism” for a rise in “virtually every measure of social pathology”—from the “wreckage of the family” to “record levels of depression and mental illness, dispirited young people, soaring suicide rates, increasing numbers of angry and alienated young males, an increase in senseless violence, and a deadly drug epidemic.”

It's nervewracking when 2 of the 3 branches of the government are actively working together in such a manner. It potentially stands the whole checks and balances system on its ear.

And it's very unsettling the level of moral and ethical depravity utilized in his alleged desire to reinstate wholesome family values. Does he understand that behavior like this is part of what drives many away from organized religion? If this is what followers of Christ behave like then that is not a community that I feel I want to be a part of.

Well, 1.5 branches at least.
