75 years
75 years
since the liberation of Auschwitz
prior to the holocaust, there were 16.5 million jews across the globe...today, there are still less than 15 million
a full 2/3 of millennials in the US can’t tell you what’s Auschwitz is
what is being taught in schools today? i vividly recall watching footage of the liberation in school (high school, i think)

Where’d the millennial stat come from? I’d be pretty surprised if that’s right. Millennials are older than people think. And none are still in public education.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 9:42 am since the liberation of Auschwitz

it’s about the only news show, other than local, that i watch with any sort of regularity, largely because it’s dominated by human interest pieces

I'm not sure that answers the question. I'm not advocating that the state of Israel cease to exist.

I found an article about the study. The conclusion seems suspect and I'd have to see the question and how they define "not knowing". The sample doesn't quite seem accurate, either.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 10:11 amcbs news sunday morningCrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 10:06 amWhere’d the millennial stat come from? I don't expect a vast majority of millennials could tell you what Auschwitz is, but I don't buy any sort of conclusion that millennials were largely not taught it--they grew up with Schindler's List and a large concentration of 20th Century history.

On the one hand, I'm glad that trad and 99 are blissfully unaware of the BDS movement. On the other hand, the fact that a rising core constituency on the Left is a total mystery to them says something incredibly disheartening.

why would we have heard of them?
i read your link, and think i understand what their goal is, but what have they done of substantial substance

Other than take over virtually the entirety of the cultural Left, including countless surrogates for the current Democratic frontrunner?
Nothing much, I guess.

Didn't Jared solve all that?
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

It's not an entirely left thing. The United Methodist Church is in on the movement, and I would hardly consider an organization that doesn't allow gay clergy to be leftist.
