thought I would give it its own thread since it hasn’t been nominated for any oscars...yet.

Just found out I know the chick who says, “we’re gonna need the national guard...”
She worked 911 dispatch at the time and took calls about it. She prefers to not discuss the incident, and doesn’t wanna see the movie.

Oh man!
So I saw the doc. It’s great. Well produced, entertaining and informative. Sort of leaves you with more questions than answers, and definitely one of those truth is stranger than fiction types of stories.
Basically a dude moves to the mountains, starts a business, feuds with other businesses and the town bored, thinks he’s getting screwed, so decides to seek revenge by building a fortified bulldozer and leveling the town.
But what’s REALLY piquing my curiosity now is the whole phenomenon of the folk antihero. This happened effectively in the community in which I live, and I’ve heard plenty of accounts, some even firsthand.
You’d think he’d be widely regarded as a nut job. But plenty of folks sort of sympathize, and give the dude credit for “raging against the machine.”
Then crazy preggo chick pulls me aside by the water cooler and says, “I’d appreciate it if you didn’t talk about this at work any more,” as if I’m bringing up some taboo subject.
