The admins of this site literally just started a thread asking users to turn off their ad blockers.

They’re pretty much all like, “we can’t make this site viable unless we pound you with ads on the top, bottom, and side of the page, taking up even more page space than the content you actually came to see, and the ads also reload every 30 seconds which makes the whole page jump around. So even though you guys the posters are the ones creating the content everyone comes here to click on, we want you to put up with more shit to make it worthwhile for us.

And I wish I could just casually swoop in and say, hey guys, here’s a link to a .net, come join!

Which reminds me to ask pdub if we can chip in some $$$ to help you with the costs?

I mean, yea, that would be nice.
Problem is, i'm too busy/lazy to even get a drive going.
Maybe when I have an off day or two.

But yes, a number of sites live on ad-revenue...it's either membership or ads.
You can get upset about it but television has ads or else you pay for a membership - same thing.

so if the admins of a message bored are being greedy and out of touch with the users, what’s the best way to punk them? (Not this bored, a fishing bored). They’re deleting my threads without explanation and everything!

I wanna organize a boycott. Or fill the boreds up with gif bombs. Or get a critical mass of users to change every thread to a discussion about breakfast. or even “admin appreciation” threads, or something like that, but on a mass scale, so the admins have to go delete thousands of individual posts. I’m trying to get creative here, and make a statement without being completely malicious.

Anyone got ideas?
