1. Currently there are "search/rescue/recovery" boats out on the lake about 2 miles from where I live. https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/s ... m/2301614/ I have been saying for years that you have to be a complete asshole to be on a boat in Lake Michigan during a "storm" - let alone if you are an inexperienced boater.
My guess is the "captain" of the boat was not too familiar with his/her surroundings and that's why he/she allegedly hit the break wall.
Regardless, someone is probably dead due to negligence.
All that being said, do you feel the boat operator should be arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter - no matter what their relationship is/was with the person who most likely died?

1. Something needs to be done. This happens way too frequently. I have a friend who is a boat owner and he tells me horror stories about inexperienced boaters out on Lake Michigan. Lake Michigan can be as smooth as glass or as crazy as an ocean. When it's as smooth as glass in nice weather, it's still not always so easy to navigate. When the weather is rough and the waves are choppy, not even the most experienced of boaters should be out on the lake.

3. No but I think I would like to say yes. Usually but not always, I believe it's better to have regrets doing something you enjoyed than having regrets not doing something you would have enjoyed.

5. No idea, was told in my 20s i resembled paul Walker or ryan phillipe but i dont see any resemblance to either. And now im older, more weathered by the sun. I might be stronger now though, been a lot of years working now when i uses to sit at a desk at watch others work.
