Fuck those people.
Have some fun and don't blame loosing on others.
Dunno if it's just happenstance or the dealer is pulling some tricks but many times the person at the table that does that gets the shittier cards and all of a sudden the nice players, who tip out, start landing blackjacks.

Your post reminded me that I forgot I played in Mexico a couple of years ago. The hotel probably did something illegal but they set up a $5 a hand table at the pool and my sig other, me, and another couple played. The other couple were playing and acting like they were aficionados. They weren't. I was up big (maybe $100) early. All of a sudden, whatever THEY (the other couple - and my sig other) did affected ME. I couldn't catch a break. Then I decided I wanted to leave and go back to the beach and hang out. I pulled a dick move and would do whatever I could to purposely lose and not give a shit about how/if it affected the others. I would NEVER have done that in a real casino.

In the long term, it shouldn't matter what the other player at your table decides.
If they are purposely loosing, it could actually get you a good run of cards that you wouldn't have gotten had they played smart.
People who get mad at what cards you play at the Blackjack table are just assholes.
Make friends at the table, tip your dealer when you win, enjoy the free drinks.

Yes, it matters. But, if you're losing your shit at people on a $10-$15 table, you have deeper issues.
I play by the book 99% of the time but expect varied play on lower limit tables--most just don't know how to play, that's why they're at that table. Higher limits should be by the book, but it's a moot point with the type of players in there. There's also this magic move of just walking away.
All that said, gutter's story is just dick-ish.

BUT: I can think of a handful of times where I've had out something like $400-$500 on because of a split + double down and 3rd base (usually like to play with only 1-2 others) is sitting on like a 14 against a 5 with $25 out. I've asked them if they'd stand down and can live with myself for that.

1 - last fall
2 - "advice" for me? my personal physician. "advice" for all of us? Fauci.
3 - Minnesota is my favorite. New Jersey might be my least favorite.
4 - is a golf ball marker with engraved initials (and a Jayhawk) "monogrammed"? Otherwise, no.
5 - f. So eminently punchable.

Mathematically it doesn't matter what other players do at blackjack.

No.
It doesn't matter in the long run.
You can cost the table or you can help the table.
A bad play is equally as likely to take a card that would help the dealer as it would hurt the dealer.
Say dealer is showing 4. I'm playing thirdbase and I decide to split 10's, then I'm kind of an asshole b/c I pretty much have a win in hand ( but if i'm someone else at the table, who really gives a shit ) - I draw a 7 and stay and then a 8 and stay. Dealer shows a 14 and then pulls a Q and busts. But had I stayed on my 20 the dealer would have pulled a 7 and beaten everyone at the table.
The dealer has to play according to his/her hand - not anything that anyone else is doing.

And the assholes who are super angry at the guy splitting 10's, when they get saved with a dealer bust holding their 18, make these disgusted "whatever, how lucky" faces as if they are the greatest pros ever, and try to look at someone else at the table to side with them.
Meanwhile, if I'm sitting next to the guy who just saved my ass by splitting, with my 15, I'm smiling/laughing and saying 'nice play'.

Makes zero difference.
Guy doesn't listen to you, hits, draws a 6. Dealer shows a 9, then draws a face card and busts.
Guy listens. Dealer shows a 9 then deals himself the 6 the guy would have taken from him - anyone without blackjack looses.
Also if i'm the guy you're asking and i've already been playing mostly by the book and you're giving me advice on a 14 vs a 5, you're the asshole at the table.

It doesn't. But, blackjack tables are not a vacuum. And, not just about mathematics.
