Actually, Trump might be the signal which GOP will take its cue from. If Trump starts tweeting non-stop (which is likely due to the ties between Russia, Trump and the NRA) then the GOP will need to fall in line. Otherwise, I think it's cut ties and thanks for the countless seats the GOP got due to NRA support.

NRA has been a slush fund for its execs for a while, and recently seems to have been infiltrated by Russia to fold in propaganda/other misinformation to sow discord in the US.



Also, it has been a lobbying arm of the gun manufacturer for a while too.

I like the Second Amendment.

I hate the NRA.

A world where the second amendment remains in tact, without the craziness of the NRA and their ability to block some reasonable and limited restrictions/regulation on gun ownership seems like a good thing.

Trump will portray this as an attack on the 2nd Amendment.

Trumpers will follow that lead.

And in so doing...they'll be mad...about something that defrauded them, and used their money not for 2nd Amendment advocacy purposes, but for personal enrichment.

Folks are so stubborn about preserving their perceived rights, and way of life, or whatever, that they won’t even stop and consider the fact that maybe the NRA really was conning them all along.

I imagine the conspiracy circles shall have a field day with this one.
