Yeah I might hammer KU. I mean straight hammer. Les Koenning isn't running the 2 TE 2 RB sets anymore. No more 9 man boxes that Coastal beat KU with. Going to be wide open and KU is so deep at WR it's crazy. Just have to find a QB to make some accurate throws and not be predictable.

Skill position predictions
QB - Kendrick. Safest with the ball. Some mobility and a leader. Played well in the 4 games he played in during the 2018 season.
RB - Pooka. Duh. Gardner, Locklin and Hickson (Stretch) will all contribute.
WR - Parchment, Robinson, Arnold are the top 3 guys. Lassiter, McBride and Skinner will all be in the mix.
TE - Fairchild. Huggins and Sosinski will also contribute. Huggins will be a big time RZ threat.

I would think we'd be able to win by a TD.
Carolina still trying to figure out who to start at QB ( like us ).
RB CJ Marable ran all over us ( 168 total yards ) as a junior last season and he returns.

Lets hope and pray that Les has given all the control to Dearmon. I never want to see another 2 TE and a full back set ever again.

The defense and a QB are going to be the biggest issues. My guess is a three win season. Now if they struggle against CC it is going to be another long year.

I will say I would rather take 'having a long year' and guys getting reps than the latter which Big 10 and Pac 12 fans get.

I have very, very low expectations for this year. The same as last year; get better every game and by the fourth quarter try and be within two scores. That being said I am still jacked up for KU football and always will be.

Coastal visits Kansas for a 9pm kick on September 12th. FS1. Gotta get those west coast viewers.

KU wins by 15.

Last season v Coastal Carolina was brutal.
Score in the 1st 4 minutes and then shit the bed the rest of the game.
Stanley was very bad - 2 interceptions in Coastal territory and with 5 minutes left, down 5, we could only gain 7 yards with 4 plays.

Appalachian State scored 56 and routed them 2 weeks later.

So...let's score more than 20 in this one please.

Yeah, that was the nail in the coffin for Koenning and Miles running the offense. The next game was BC, which had Dearmon all over it. But I think the reason the game was awful is that Coastal stacked the box because it was Pooka's first game back and they wanted to force feed him. Now with Dearmon's offense, they won't be able to stack the box and Pooka should have plenty of room to do his thing. If Coastal tries to load box still, the WR crew will absolutely destroy them in 1 on 1 scenarios.

My official prediction might change as we do guess the score.......

KU jumps out to early lead and then "coasts" to a fairly easy win.

KU 31
Coastal 17

IF KU can find a QB who can 'most of the time' deliver the ball to the WR corp, which will in turn open things up for Pook this could be an interesting year. If this is a type of year playing musical chairs at the QB spot like the Gill, Weis and Beaty years it could get ugly.

I will take KU to cover against Coastal as well.

Under/over rushing yards Pooka this season set at 1,080.

Man, that's 100 yards per game, with conference play really only. I'll say under, because I think he'll have a good chance to be a threat receiving as well.

I think he'll have a big first game though.

I’m glad I got it at -3.5. Now it’s -6.5. I Think KU does. They played their WORST GAME of the last 5 years in that Coastal game and still was a 4th and a few yards away from likely winning the game.

I think KU wins by that 17-20 range.
