I like Fredericksburg a lot. I also like to visit Dripping Springs and the Olive Oil ranch they have there. Some great restaurants in Austin might be open. The McNay Art Museum and Central Market are a great trip-rounded out with the Smoke Shack all downtown.

A fun day my girlfriend and I and another couple did a few years ago was rent a couple 4x4 jeeps and go up into some of the really hilly areas, including Canyons off road park near Fredericksburg. It was a blast. My girlfriend thought she would hate it, but wanted to go again the next day...lol. Really a good way to see the area and terrain and can be an adrenaline rush.
